This miner will obliterate. So it is best for smaller asteroids. There is no way for scripts to determine ore locations except by actually drilling it with the drills.
Gerdih 21. feb. 2019 kl. 8:25
Hello, do the miners obliterate asteroids or do they mine specific ore volumes and avoid mining through pure rock?
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 22. aug. 2018 kl. 21:10
The STATUS module was getting a compile error due to changes in SE 1.187 scripting.

I also updated the blueprint with the current version of automatic LCDs
Rick 14. aug. 2018 kl. 9:57
Not responding to commands, like set home etc. -> http://prntscr.com/kikrpp
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2018 kl. 16:50
I have not tested with 1.187, but I don't think anything should be broken....

How are you setting the target?

DS or single player?
Kirzy 11. aug. 2018 kl. 16:16
Hi. Is this still working after this last update? I set the target but nothing change on the LCD
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2017 kl. 19:43
sensor state is not needed for operation. It's a tool that will set the sensors to the correct distances if the size of the ship changes.
Adaephon 13. sep. 2017 kl. 15:17
well the sensor state PB comes up with errors for me, other then that i just cant get it to mine, probibly setting it up wrong
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2017 kl. 12:23
It should still work. If you find any problems, please let me know.
Adaephon 13. sep. 2017 kl. 12:08
Does this still work correctly with latest build of SE?
Blitz 24. jan. 2017 kl. 15:17
Hey, 24 drills is the limit, I am just trying to find a full auto design, it doesnt have to be a drone
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 23. jan. 2017 kl. 11:28
drones for what? Mining?

What's the limit on your server? Sometimes a large grid miner might be better with those limits.
Blitz 23. jan. 2017 kl. 6:50
Hey, do you know of any good large drones? My server has limit on drills, so the larger the better, this one is impressive tho, so much work put into it
PhuriousGeorge 22. jan. 2017 kl. 21:59
Appears to be working, thank you sir. And confirmed the ++ variant has issues with the same PB. One of these days I'll learn C#. Great work by the way!
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. 2017 kl. 21:42
Or worse. I didn't update those, juse this one.
PhuriousGeorge 22. jan. 2017 kl. 21:41
Wow, quick response, I'll give it a try! The ++ version had the same errors, I'm assuming they all did.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. 2017 kl. 18:05
Updated for the changes to sensor position
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. 2017 kl. 17:51
ok, thanks. I'll go check it.
PhuriousGeorge 22. jan. 2017 kl. 17:17
WicoPBMain status is "Assembly not found. Please compile script"
It's tossing a lot of errors on code check/compile
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 15. okt. 2016 kl. 6:34
the MK3 -- is a smaller version with just 5 drills.

What PBs where having errors?

Likely the LCD PB since it has been updated since I published the blueprint.

maybe BARABAS; that would just effect the automatic unloading of ore when docked.
Fox 15. okt. 2016 kl. 3:26
Just wanted to say this is working fine in build 153_010 single player mode. Some of the PB's give errors when you check, remember and save but that doesn't seem to matter. Love this one.

My only request is a smaller and lighter version - four drills or even 2 drills. Less cargo, less engines etc. Would help early game a lot. Thanks. :)
Docalophagus 31. maj 2016 kl. 23:38
The ship sits at "Mining Proximity" waititng for drills to work, but wont keep moving. IS this a sensor issue? Asteroid is verified through the search function.
Docalophagus 30. maj 2016 kl. 21:48
No messages shown in the p-blocks. Its a small roid. It's on a MP server.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 30. maj 2016 kl. 18:23
Are there any error messages in the programming blocks?

Large or 'small' asteroid?

Can you publish the world so I can take a loot at it?
Docalophagus 30. maj 2016 kl. 0:46
Got it build, had to weld by hand though. The only issue I have is, once it begins minging and has !Mining Proximity shown in antenna, it will mine about half of it's length in to the roid and stop. The drills continue to mine, but the ship doesnt automaticallt thrust forward.
Malaras 3. mar. 2016 kl. 14:32
yes projector, My game isn't creative.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 3. mar. 2016 kl. 8:10
load where? into a projector? Paste into the game from creative/spacemaster?
Malaras 3. mar. 2016 kl. 3:41
Hmm for some reason the blue print won't load?
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 19. nov. 2015 kl. 10:05
If you delete it all, the script will re-write the text panel with the current settings it is using.
Xandalis 19. nov. 2015 kl. 3:54
Alright, I'm a bit confused about the config settings. Specifically, the comment line reading "Delete all text to re-save current configuration." Should I copy and then paste it back in?
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2015 kl. 9:55
Yeah, the unlock bug. Turning off the connector (sometimes) does not unlock it.

I'll see about changing that in the miner so it turns off both.

http://forums.keenswh.com/threads/01-107-008-sp-win10-inconsistent-connector-actions-when-turned-off.7372537/
Videonauth 9. nov. 2015 kl. 9:52
Well i have real trouble to get it to work. I pasted it in, took ownership of all blocks, then i recompiled all the scripts, did a master reset to make sure everything is at its preferred state.

Afterwards i moved it to my large ships connector and tried to launch it, ok it said i ts have to be docked. Ok been there done that, so i docked the connector and chose again to launch. Well it tried but it does not unlock the connector. Tried around the past few hours but could not figure out whats wrong with it.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2015 kl. 9:50
mix-up in the shipping department, I'm sure..
Videonauth 9. nov. 2015 kl. 6:22
Nice now i can give it a spin. Imagine my suprise when my hangar manager told me, that we cant fit this beast into our front hangar. :) (RP Mode)
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2015 kl. 0:20
Fixed. Also updated the BP to have the current NAV program so the simspeed hit is gone.

Note that mining is changing a lot over the last couple of releases from Keen; I hope it will settle down soon and I'll update the miner to work more optimally.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2015 kl. 0:11
oops. Lemme check that.
Videonauth 8. nov. 2015 kl. 15:06
Uhm, just pasted this one to my world and it seems i got the MK3++ with this package O_o just to let you know
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 8. nov. 2015 kl. 12:43
Backward should be fine..

It does need to stay centered for the autopilot to re-dock correctly (when keen fixes it again).
Videonauth 8. nov. 2015 kl. 12:14
Will it be a problem for the programming when I move the main connector a bit outward by let say one block ? i have a recessed connector on my carrier and the way it is set up it would definetively collide.
Wolverine 21. sep. 2015 kl. 16:02
Opened a new discussion.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 20. sep. 2015 kl. 17:43
The current version has accurate speed control, even when simspeed drops.

The current AP collision avoidance is 400meters. I'll have to test with navigation in close proximity.

First step will be to automatically generate the docking waypoints into the remote control. I'll have that added soon.
Jakesnake5 20. sep. 2015 kl. 13:25
I think there's a script that will allow control over speed, so the ship will not go too fast. Morilibus uses it on his Skimmer automated mining ship.

BTW: Will the new collision avoidance by AP that Keen has added be used?
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2015 kl. 10:06
I'm moving the side drills out by one block on the next release. This give a little more room for movement to the sides.
-|UKMD| DaWhiskers 11. aug. 2015 kl. 11:40
It is the larger asteroids with tunnels that have been fatal to the miner, so your theory may be correct. Spent some time watching a miner on a smaller asteroid earlier with some mixed results.

I am seeing the whole miner bounce sideways at times, and thanks to last weeks collision particles, its easier to see there are some side impacts. Miner speed is usually around 2+ m/s when this happens.

Also had a couple of strange occurances, which I'll detail separately.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2015 kl. 8:13
I've tested quite a bit to keep speed low enough that the ship shouldn't bounce and hit those containers. but maybe the asteroid had lots of tunnels and the transition made the ship move sideways and hit them? Can you confirm this theory?

They are on the edge of the clear space created.. if they are a problem, we'll have to cut them off and lose the cargo space provide. Feel free to do this yourself; either grind down the cargo containers and/or create a local blueprint without the problem cargo containers.
-|UKMD| DaWhiskers 11. aug. 2015 kl. 1:05
The three that have made it back, had all sustained damage. Mostly to the medium cargo containers, the worst losing 6 (4 one side, 2 the other). So they are taking damage while mining.

I sent two out after posting yesterday, and as long as I interupt their mining before they get too damaged, and send them home using the go home function, both returned, one was unharmed and one even managed to auto-dock.

While looking at the wreckage and survivors that made it back, and the damage they sustain, its highly likely that its the cargo containers taking damage, releasing their ore as a large rock near the middle of the miner thats causing the fatal destruction when it occurs.

Apologies, I wasn't very informative.

Singleplayer, and yes using the Keen autopilot (double checked in precision mode), and using the GPS co-ords from the GPS generated by the programming.

All miners sent to different asteroids, so no chance of Miner vs Miner collision.
The two that never survived were both in pieces, some drill arms removed by damage, and the tail ejector section had floated quite some distance away on one of them. Both of these were sent to very large 'roids.
Wicorel  [ophavsmand] 10. aug. 2015 kl. 21:56
Are you using the Keen docking? It should be OK. the built-in docking DOES need assiatnace for the final connection to the dock.

What happened in the asteroid? Did they explode? run out of power? Not able to move?

Multiplayer or singleplayer?
