New update... i made a lot of modifications and improvements, but im still testing the workshop upload.

The mod is about 280MB and thata seems to be a quota problem to the workshop. So please if you test it lave me a review of what is downloaded and if works fine.

the gunfire is amazing, but everything else sounds terrible IMO.

So this addon is really good and the weapons/explosions sound great! but for some dumb reason the Author has decided to put in Tourettes Guy death sounds for Security Forces...They sound stupid and low quality.

So this addon is really good just be warned there are some really stupid sound effects in here.

The grenade hitting the floor sound makes it difficult to tell where it landed.

No, you right. I made it with some Quake3 Sounds. But y can made a minimod stand alone outside this mod. Anyway this game have no headshoot announcer.

If still dont work for you, try the static way as moders do:


First find the 2 files of the mod:
vl_enchanced_rsfx_v1_6_5_a.vpk
vl_enchanced_rsfx_v1_6_5_b.vpk

This files are inside 2 folders into: c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\
The folder names i dont know, could be any number. Just made a search.

Once you have it. Copy the 2 files into: c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom\

With this last metod you must update manually every time with the new version of the mod.

Tell me if you solve the problem.

Since the last update apparently the steam workshop works diferent and the files are downloaded outside the game folders. Probably is that your problem.

I already test the mod and the files get downloaded and everything works perfeclty, is not a mod problem.

--->>> Remember you must write the command "snd_restart" at least one time in the ingame console to activate any sound mod.

I know... im fixing that. The problem is that the v1.6.5 now have more than 250mb and the vpk packer included un the mod tools dont support more than that size per file.
Then, y made a multifile vpk, but the wrokshop leave upload just 1 file. It leave me upload just the first file with is the content information only, not the real content.

Im fixing that in this days. Probably i must to cut the mod in 2 parts. It will be sad to strip some effects and stuff.
Be patient please. Im on it.

i think yes... all the times i update it.. it will update your files.
But if dont, tell me and we figure whats going on.
Also if you want to made the mod work without use snd_restart all the times. I can help you with that.

Now .. tackle the echo on the Fal. Every thing with it sounds right except the echo. Not pressing.. just somthing ive noticed. Really good work on the EBR..

I think the EBR has a bit more "boom" and a little less "crack" in its report. Keep up the good work. the sounds are really good.

Exactly... You gor the point of diference between a game sound and a real sound.
Thats exactly what people dont have in mind when they hear the mod, I was trying to duplicate the real life effect (real sound + feeling behind the weapon). The wepons dont sound the same when you are holding it and shooting, than in third person.
I hear in person the EBR and as I remember, was very very loud sound even with hear protections.
I try to achieve that effect, but ingame the final effect sound strange, better than original, but still not like the real life sound behind the weapon.
Clearly is not just a matter of having the original recorded sound or the loud you play it, there is something else, something more like a feeling into the sound wave, some wave... im still missing.
I will get it... sooner or later.

I imagine that it is not easy to get these right in a virtual setting. I am an avid shooter, past military and I own and have fired thousands of rounds out of all of these weapons save the MP 45 and Mrk18. The sounds are really good expecially the M4 and M16 as they tend to have more of a loud short "pop" report. The AK's are good as well with their report being more "mechanical" sounding ... at least that's how i would describe it. and keep in mind im speaking from behind the weapon ..... not in front of it... That alone makes allot of deference.

Very well done imo. Not a fan of the EBR.. sounds a bit reedy..or hollow if that makes since. but the rest are great.

Try to have just 1 Audio mod. This one have all you need :P
Also is compatible with any skin mod.
If you dont want to write snd_restart every time you use the game, try to copy the mod file into the "custom" folder.
