Okay I figured it out, it was the Zerogrid mod that added back rooms to the ship. For whatever reason it prevented the hull repair laser from appearing.

Weirdest thing, this mod was working great, and now I just noticed the laser is no longer there. Instead I get a red X-out slot when I try to switch to it.

Hey, thanks for the mod! I would like to modify this mod and slow down the repair because it seems really fast to me. Does anyone know how?

Just providing an update - this works perfectly fine on 4.30, and I love having it. It's not really cheaty, as you will need to wait for the module to have at least 1hp (engineer/construction drones have to start the repair on that item) before you can start repairing it.

I usually cap a ship, SETA until they start the engine repair, repair that myself to 100%, then I fly away. The ship has enough to start moving where you need now (can wait for jumpdrive to start repairing too if you want).

But as others have said below, this mod works perfectly well with the latest version of the game 4.30

Yes...is still working on 4.30...@Hakan...if the ship has the turrets at 1% hull...it works...but pointing the repair laser at the place where the turret was destryed will repair the ship instead...(turrets, engines, jumpdrive, etc) has to have at least 1%hull to repair them faster...

Try using the Cheat Menu mod to get your gun back, it won't cause any issues.

Same problem as with "Repair Laser", it crashes the standard engine upgrade function of the Skunk in my XR 3.61. Only diff. is that it is flagged as savegame compatible, but installed once the changings in the savegame are static, so any try to change the engines will end without an engine.
Both mods are fine when installed with final engines, but if start a new game with one of these mods can end with a never changable/upgradable engine.

I wish there was a drone that could do this, its more realistic in my opinion like in X3 u could eject and repair ur ship

the distance should be the same as for repairing ships.
stations are usually repaired by engieers, though.

well it didnt look so , how much time would it take ? does the distance matter ?
I wanted to get sure i did use it right / the mod works correctly for me .
If not , could it get modded that it could repair stations ?
I play under OSX mac , and it seems i have an issue , NPC stations wont repair themselves , so the game gets stucks after a while .So this mod was kinda "last hope "

Immersion hint - make it so that it uses various items from the ship inventory to repair the hull. Depending on how danaged it is. Like to repair the hull when its at 75% or higher it - 1 % draws 10 scrap metal or something ? - just an idea

For the moment I've switched back anyway :p The one I was using offered a Laser MK1, 2, and 3 that you could buy from the Mechanics, and I'm not sure if it was that, or if it was a different mod that added weapons and such that you could buy (not talking about yours) I have not been able to buy new engines for the skunk... if I load a game, any engines I buy from Mechanic are not installed and skunk has 0/1 engines installed.... and money is wasted O_O

I switched back to yours for simplicity... :p I'm trying to figure out this problem because I really want to play through the game... last thing I need is more stuff in the vendor list right?

Funny that yours is the weakest though, I thought it was really, really strong. Ill be using it for a while still I think =)

It's useful, however I unsubscribed to try others as this thing is POWERFUL from the start. 2 seconds to fully repair a Mealchon is a little fast in my opinion, but it's nice to have so if I dislike my other options, I'll probably be resubscribing... ;-)

I like the repair lasers(Thanks Janda) but I think it would be cool to dock smaller ships in cap ships for repairs. Just a thought.

Hi all

Theres already a repair laser and one called a welder these not only repair hulls they replenish shields so i'm wondering why make another laser that dose less than whats out there unless you are going the make it fix all damage as long as your inventory has the right collectables or get a freighter to transfer turrets etc so that the laser works like a constructor drone.

trying to use this to fix captured small ship. it only repair hull, engine is not, still can't move. doesn't serve 4 me as alternative vanilla stupid repair mechanic

Hi janda

Can i throw an idae your way I had placed it on the forum a while back but no takers thats if this is workable and it needs to interact more with an engineer.

The idae is you know we collect suff to craft and how many time have you hurd an engineer say what offers or i have the best goods around well i thought if we could trancefer some of those collectables like the jumpdrive, engine, scrap ship parts etc all item to do with ship repairs to the engineer as to aid in repair a ship faster and if the ship or you have a ship that has turrets, plating etc in is cargo then trancfer or instruct the engineer to use nessasery surplyies to replace more damaged parts this would make the engineer more like an engineer.

Oh and thanks for the support for a nice mod which you only shared with people... I would just appreciate the help a lot. By the way, I confirm, changing damage values make the weapons disappear on your both mods? Also default values work pretty nicely. Both mods now work for me. Thanks again!

man i don't get any repair laser buying options... what might I be doing wrong? i've checked mercenary and teladi outpost; ver 3.53; any ideas? it's not pre-installed, it's not sold in vendor; i see it among enxtensions but no trace of hull repair laser in game
