would it be possible to make this thing run on oil from the natural resources view (must be placed over oil, draws oil from it)? the tower make it look like it does not run on oil deliveries but rather gets "natural gas" straight from the ground.

Haven't seen what it looks like in-game yet, but thank you very much for taking the time to update this.

Thanks for your effort Doughnut, i bow before you

Updated for After Dark

Yes, I was curious of the same. Your power plants are all wonderfully-done -- any efforts to add some lighting would be much appreciated by many no doubt. Thank you for all you've done for the community regardless.

Any chance of having this model updated for After Dark? Thanks in advance!

Aside from the wonky LOD model (the entire building turns red and white) and what others have mentioned about natural gas being cleaner than oil, cheers to you for your work on this. I always liked how this facility looked aesthetically in SC3, but that's probably because I have a thing for towers painted red and white (at some point I'd love to re-create Sutro Tower for C:S). Thank you!

Im thowing in my 5 cents as well. Both Spotter and Roberto Tomás are right. Biogas should be less polluting than oil, but abit more expensive. Thats the way it was in 3K. They probably had the same range though.
Spotter 28. mar. 2015 kl. 10:09
Natural Gas plants emit less pollution than Oil fired ones. :D Great designe idea though
GNO-SYS 27. mar. 2015 kl. 18:40
That's nostalgic as hell.

Looks great.

@Doughnut — okay, you got me :) I'm warming up to this .. especially since, thinking about it, this probably doesn't take deliveries (doesnt need oil to run) so it does still have an advantage over oil

@roberto, I've explained this below. My argument stems from the dates of introduction of both designs. This plant was introduced in SimCity3000 (1999) and the C:SL Oil Plant (2015) is looking fairly futuristic. It was my way of adhering to the aesthetics of each power plant.
roberto tomás 25. mar. 2015 kl. 18:40
hmm, this is fishy. The whole point of natural gas is that it is much less polluting than oil. Did you mean noise pollution? Regular pollution should be <40% of oil — the disadvantage of natural gas is that it is more expensive both in initial investment and in recurring costs.

Can you add the natural gas power plant form SC4?
norie 24. mar. 2015 kl. 14:44
Damn man nice job, keep up the excellent submissions! I love using them in my game.

@Miturion, there's some Las Vegas maps on the workshop also!

@iKaMuSuMe, I'm planning on it!

@Erocco, there's some people making SC4 stuff I think. I may be too late to the party, but I'm not saying no to anything yet :)
Erocco 23. mar. 2015 kl. 21:38
Beautiful! Thank you so much! Are you ever thinking of making SC4 stuff?

_fantail_ 23. mar. 2015 kl. 8:41
Nice idea / plant, except nat gas should be much cleaner than oil.
