This is the Battersea Power Plant in London [pbs.twimg.com] that was used by Pink Floyd for the Animals album cover, with the shown pig.

Looks more like a coal plant than the skylines one
Payne_Train 17 mar, 2018 @ 0:08
This is great. Plopping this down brings back a ton of memories. I could amost swear I heard the SC3 sound for this when I dropped it in game. Thank you for making this! Cheers!
Pietje  [skapare] 9 mar, 2016 @ 11:27
Sure thing man. Looks nice!
boformer 7 mar, 2016 @ 22:09
Hey Doughnut. I released an improved version of your plant, with an extra LOD mesh and improved night light texture: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=640815469

I hope you are ok with that.
Uber-n00bie 29 sep, 2015 @ 14:24
Fantastic job on the lighting. Thank you!
Pietje  [skapare] 29 sep, 2015 @ 12:04
Updated for After Dark
Suturi 29 sep, 2015 @ 7:25
This is a great assett, not only because of nostalgic value, it adds a nice gritty realistic touch. I wonder if you could update it for After Dark, thanks in advance!
Napoleon Blownapart 14 jul, 2015 @ 12:06
This so AWSOME!!!!
Quinnell 25 jun, 2015 @ 19:44
I can't tell you how many times I had this orange roof in some neglected corner of my map. It's beautiful.
Marcy 3 jun, 2015 @ 10:05
Yes yes yes yes! What a nostalgia trip. I agree with it needing to look just a little bit dirtier, but man, this is a great model! Much better than the vanilla coal power plant which just looks plain weird.
Karl Marx 30 apr, 2015 @ 19:12
This was always my favorite power plant in SC 3000
Muspell 26 apr, 2015 @ 9:50
could provide a little bit mmore power. otherwise u end up like MagicBinaryCode with his picture ^^
mkn192 26 apr, 2015 @ 8:42
@Face_OF_Insanity The RA1 powerplant and SC3000 are both based on an old coal powerplant in the UK, Battersea
Akindrum 11 apr, 2015 @ 6:59
Can't believe EA shut down Maxis
Pietje  [skapare] 1 apr, 2015 @ 2:13
@Magic, holy shit...
Avery 31 mar, 2015 @ 13:47
Florius 24 mar, 2015 @ 10:51
Hope you can fix it soon! But glad you have the same problem hehe!
Pietje  [skapare] 22 mar, 2015 @ 14:16
@static, yes! I have noticed it though unsure how to approach the problem. I'll investigate further!
static 22 mar, 2015 @ 13:54
@Florius, I'm experiencing the same distortion in the icon image on the toolbar. Have you noticed this in your game, Doughnut? Thanks for all your work, your models are gorgeous!
Pietje  [skapare] 21 mar, 2015 @ 10:37
@eobet & @Face_OF_Insanity, Battersea powerplant is used as the basis for a lot of powerplants. :)
Face 21 mar, 2015 @ 10:13
is it me or does this look more like a powerstation from red Alert 1?

anywas GG good mod :P
eobet 21 mar, 2015 @ 9:58
You do realize that this is the Battersea Power Station in London, right?
Pietje  [skapare] 21 mar, 2015 @ 7:23
@Damo, I understand your point, but that's something the game should do with a shader. Custom animations aren't supported by the engine so I guess animated shaders aren't also.
@Florius, I have the same icon. I'm still not sure what is causing this.
Ryster 21 mar, 2015 @ 5:44
@Damo: Why would a new power plant be dirty? Getting dirtier over time would be nice, not sure that's possible though.
Florius 20 mar, 2015 @ 10:16
In the game on the bar, the icon for the coal plant looks really weird. (Screenshot: http://puu.sh/gIg7K/cb42e76d31.jpg) . Is it possible to fix this or is it something on my side?
ilovebeerbeerbeer 20 mar, 2015 @ 3:35
Fantastic... All this needs is a flooting pig and we have Animals, A Pink Floyd album cover...
cRAGGLEOz 20 mar, 2015 @ 1:56
You're awesome!
<Insert name here> 20 mar, 2015 @ 1:18
My only gripe with this is it needs to look more dirty , i want the chimneys tops to be thick with black soot and the roof to be dark and dirty , overal tho good effort!
Nihil 19 mar, 2015 @ 11:06
Oh! Right in the nostalgia! *dies*
Ash243x 18 mar, 2015 @ 23:11
oh wow, this is so good; great job!
Falco054 18 mar, 2015 @ 20:36
that nostalgia is REAL, great work mate!
Pietje  [skapare] 17 mar, 2015 @ 14:59
@Afflicted One, working on it.
[TB] NickyZero 17 mar, 2015 @ 14:31
Super cool :)
Rosa 17 mar, 2015 @ 8:49
Please make separate LOD models for your assets.
Baleur 16 mar, 2015 @ 19:57
This looks so disgusting and gloomy. In a beautiful great way, amazing work.
billy.bodgit 16 mar, 2015 @ 13:46
Battersea Powerplant :)
Beerke 16 mar, 2015 @ 11:10
god yes
Giant Bearded Face 16 mar, 2015 @ 10:10
So much wee came out.
JAB 16 mar, 2015 @ 6:18
My understanding was that if you didn't make one yourself, the game created one for you, but that authors had the option of creating their own LOD model. I could be wrong, of course.
Pietje  [skapare] 16 mar, 2015 @ 1:27
@JAB, the LOD model is something the game handles on its own. I've seen other mods suffer the same giant low resolution model. My guess is it's just a bug.
JAB 15 mar, 2015 @ 18:49
Very nice! Would you mind creating a better low LOD model for when zoomed out? As it is now, when you zoom out, the roof disappears. :)
343 Guiltyspark 15 mar, 2015 @ 12:46
I love it. Please keep making more Sim City 3 style buildings!
z 15 mar, 2015 @ 11:52
Oh god... the nostalgia is too strong... great work!
Pietje  [skapare] 15 mar, 2015 @ 11:32
@Keine Lust, I've noticed none of the custom content features accurate icons. I can only upload a screenshot of my model in the Asset Editor for the Workshop, but I'm not able to create thumbnails for it. Hopefully that will change.

As for your question about the pollution. I figured since the new Coal Power Plant looks so fancy schmancy and this one was originally created in 1999, it should probably be a little more polluting! I'm sorry! ;)
Keine Lust 15 mar, 2015 @ 11:27
Can you please fix the icon? Also, shouldn't it pollute just as much as the regular Coal Plant? Otherwise, loving it! :D
Blackfyre 15 mar, 2015 @ 9:12
@Doughnut, maybe it's just the game or the map's colour scheme interfering with your texture's colours? But you're right, it actually rather fits the game's existing palette.. In any case, this plant is going to be a staple of my industrial zones from now on.. :)
SeanCMNJ 15 mar, 2015 @ 7:23
What a great idea! Would love to see more classic SC buildings in here.
Pietje  [skapare] 15 mar, 2015 @ 7:10
@Blackfyre, you're right. The texture is actually brown and grimy, so not sure what happened. In all honesty, I kind of like the saturated 'happy' color. Chimes in better with the already existing color palette of the game. :)
