@Leviathan Wheels (at least Suspensions) have a build in Hand Brake activated by pressing p or going into the Cockpit control Page
Leviathan v2 15. nov. 2015 kl. 3:50
Is there a hand brake?

i remember a game were you fight but the bases can move just like this
_coronal_ 21. aug. 2015 kl. 19:42
I wonder if it still drifts after the update...
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 15. maj 2015 kl. 6:41
Sounds like a rotor/piston issue dude, have you got moving parts like that on it?
Sailor Pothead 12. maj 2015 kl. 17:21
i am trying to build a transport for this but cant get anything done because it slips trough any platform i i build and even if i turn everything off it starts randomly spinning in space, any chance on info for what is makeing it rotate?
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 26. mar. 2015 kl. 21:40
There will be more builds like that in the future but I agree, think even I would like to see that one back :)
Dagothra 21. mar. 2015 kl. 17:07
I definitely love the build time-lapse and it's a shame, but the builds I'm most interested in seeing are already passed (next-gen carrier *cough cough*)
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 21. mar. 2015 kl. 13:32
@NateRate Looks very intesting! I shall check it out once this vid is published :)
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 21. mar. 2015 kl. 13:30
@Casual Sun Having JUST recorded the video on the offroad designs I came up with I'd be very interested to take a look.. don't have to worry about getting slammed for 'self promotion' here unless basically all you say is "Lookit: LINK" :)

Will be interested to see what you came up with, hopefully mine isn't too poor in comparison as I really didn't come up with many ways of avoiding the clearance issue just tanks to how wheels mount in SE. Cheers :)

Well, after some time, the USF Mlazer is complete: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=411534462
Cryocrax 21. mar. 2015 kl. 10:05
I like the build video, I think you should add them to your next videos.
S1m0n3 21. mar. 2015 kl. 9:27
wich mod you used?
Phyzic 21. mar. 2015 kl. 9:23
Great video!!!!! Your build is awesome but I really had to comment to show appreatiation for your time-lapse building at the end, I would really love to see this on more builds to give people like me an idea of how this stuff is done.
Chi-0 21. mar. 2015 kl. 4:39
why don't you use the sorters to make it have a factory area
VOID WALKER 20. mar. 2015 kl. 12:51
Is this a blueprint or a world?

# Target practice
Ratch 20. mar. 2015 kl. 9:30
@Author: one thing i would suggest, seal off the ship by walling the Vehicle storage off. I would suggest the DK MedBay next to the airlocks so the engineers don't have to go upstairs to put their helmets on/off. This would allow you to use the new Oxygen System the Devs gave us yesterday =]
Ratch 20. mar. 2015 kl. 9:29
@NateRate: My Suggestion? a simple Frame that locks onto the unit would be the best option. all you would need is a single cockpit, plenty of thrusters and clamps. Something i was just thinking of is maybe a 2 part Frame.

Take a frame and connect it to the vehicle. most of the thrust for this section would be geared for Planet fall. so light maneuvering but loads of downward thrust. using Merge Blocks have an attached rear section that has the higher Manueverability and primary foreward thrust for space travel. this section woudl also have cargo space for resupplying the Colonists.

An alternative to the above would be modify the vehicle so that is has what the Landing Frame would be and use MErge blocks for Connecting. it could also "seal" if you build it right.
Satara 19. mar. 2015 kl. 19:00
so from what i've read below. Looking over the "Command & Conquer Series" >_< you can build a MCV >_< have it deploy it self. let alone the rest ;p nice idea thou :D really liked the layout of your base :D it was a lot bigger that i thought on the inside lol :P ++
Casual Sun 19. mar. 2015 kl. 18:40
@w4stedspace I might be able to help in that endeavour! I earnestly offer you to look at the only two workshop items I have. They are ground vehicles with simple, successful all terrain suspension. They're not perfect, to be sure (pretty damn good though), but please take a look at the suspension. I believe using it as a basis for design may greatly help you overcome the trouble in SE with ground vehicles ALWAYS bottoming out and breaking tires. Essentially, it's a tricky task, and it's important to sometimes build off others than rediscover and reinvent everything yourself!

Please don't view this as promotion. I'm not and don't intend on getting popular in the SE community. I just think that if you showcased and implimented a successful ground suspension system, it could end a lot of people's frustration in building ground vehicles.

Thank you for reading.
FaeDemetria 19. mar. 2015 kl. 17:50
Really cool build, w4stedspace. Now that you've made a deployable base, a base that self-constructs, a base on wheels, I bet a lot of us would really love to see you make a base that is a ship, that can land itself on a base and unpack. It can also repack and land on a different asteroid / planet.

Also, thumbs up to the extra footage of you building these things. I would love to see them in either your main videos or accompanying ones. If you do seperate them, just make sure they're both on the workshp. (:
[BLA]Unmortal 19. mar. 2015 kl. 12:33
Drifting seems fun
geusse got make a race car now to drift with =)
NateRate the Narrate 19. mar. 2015 kl. 12:14
Alrighty then, I'll get to work then. Quick question though, mods. Is there certain mods you want me to use/not use, or do you just want this to be built with vanilla blocks?
Venixer 19. mar. 2015 kl. 10:36
nice but I would like to see if it could handle rougher terrain.

I'd also be tempted to add thrusters on this, to make it space worthy :D Fly and take off and land and roll!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 19. mar. 2015 kl. 5:17
@NateRate By all means make somthing to carry it, I'd been meaning to at some point but so far haven't got round to it.. the base should be fairly easy to actually 'carry' thanks to the big flat top, should be able to latch some landing gear on there easy enough.

If you do give it a go I'd be interested to see what you come up with but please don't feel any pressure to do so, just if you want to :)
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 19. mar. 2015 kl. 5:16
@Casual Sun Thanks :) The plan is exactly that for the next SE build, I'll work on some smaller much more maneuverable/controllable craft to go alongside this one, preapred the terrain if needed and generally fill the roles this is too large and unweildy to be capable of directly.
Casual Sun 19. mar. 2015 kl. 0:33
Nice land Yacht. I'd criticize the lack of mobility (one must develop novel systems in order to have a good all terrain vehicle) however, due to the size and function of this craft, that's excusable. This is something that would carry smaller craft more adapted at traversing bad terrain. Really quite neat. I do love seeing ground vehicles in Space engineers.
NateRate the Narrate 18. mar. 2015 kl. 17:00
Are you looking for some sort of dropship to transport this base/other land vehicles with? While I am not the best builder, I would be more that happy to try my luck at building one, if you wish.
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 18. mar. 2015 kl. 9:00
@genghis05 sounds interesting, will have to search that out as I'm planning another wheeled build for the next video also :) Cheers!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 18. mar. 2015 kl. 9:00
@cptsavarus thanks dude :) Try to keep coming up with new things as best I can!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 18. mar. 2015 kl. 8:59
Cheers guys, glad the timelapse was universally enjoyed it seems :) Will most certainly be keeping those in future builds where it's appropriate.. a few I think are too small/too control panel focussed for that to work still. Bring on the planets!
Lonewolf 18. mar. 2015 kl. 0:42
The time lapse is great. I learned a lot from that.
genghis05 17. mar. 2015 kl. 20:20
There's a mod for off road suspension somewhere. Stock has the wheels mounted in the middle of the suspension block and all this does is moves it down to the bottom. It might give enough ground clearance to be able to jump it, although it wouldn't be such a low slung monster anymore.
cptsavarus 17. mar. 2015 kl. 10:13
This is a great concept & one I've been thinking about for a build of my own since the idea of coloniy vehicles started getting popular. A definite yes to the time-lapse recordings. That's a very cool touch & I think it'd inspire a lot of people to come up with their own designs. Love the sensor on the door. So simple but such a good idea. I'll have to remember that one.

Excellent work you're doing with these things. So many original ideas. Seriously well done!
Ephex 17. mar. 2015 kl. 8:46
I can't wait for the planet/moon update so you can accually use REAL land vehicles without massblocks. This would fit so good with it :D
Zamashwood 17. mar. 2015 kl. 1:00
All bases should be able to drift with style...but realy its nice love the look, like how it has rooms for crew and shop space and everything.Like that its mostly air tight and seeing the time lapse was nice. Wonder how people get stared on big things like this some times so it was neat to get a little idea at how you go about it.
xPhantom G 16. mar. 2015 kl. 4:19
Noice work, coming from a different land-based builder. :3
Vagabond X 15. mar. 2015 kl. 22:41
The time lapse is neat. I'd like to see more of those please, if it's not too much of a hassle. :)
xenolego 15. mar. 2015 kl. 15:40
The time-lapse was very cool.
ZoskaOska 15. mar. 2015 kl. 11:58
Rolling Death it is. :)
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 15. mar. 2015 kl. 10:39
and yeah, gone crazy on MCV things :P Or in this case, Rolling Death :)
