Hey Author, now that merging lanes are a thing, will you ever do redesigns of all your great interchanges, coupled with merging lanes?

AMAZING

only one qualm, and that is that the main road (a38m) should be highway up until the end of the junction where the last exit/entrace is, where it turns into the non-highway a5127.
Angelhearth 10. sep. 2017 kl. 3:01
This one needs a version 2. The main highway that bends through it is bent, seriously bent. I loved the function and the look, but I'm not putting something like this in my city, and I'm not going to use my time fixing it.
Amayasnep 19. juli 2017 kl. 20:40
You weren't wrong about upgradability. I had to start from scratch after I had a go with it. lol

Thank you so much for this. when it was first built my father got so lost. used it every day for many years. I agree with the low housing values.
Drinking Gasoline 8. juli 2015 kl. 13:31
cool. i like these super compicated intersections that just blow ur mind. and after looking at all the others holy shit i cant believe mankind has so many variations. like wtf so thanks for helpin make some cool ones cause this shit is over my head and i played every city builder so far.

Here are the co-ordinates of the real-life junction in Google Maps, for those asking for it. https://www.google.com/maps/place/52%C2%B030%2738.7%22N+1%C2%B051%2752.4%22W

I call this What Happens If You Drink Too Many Times While Designing.
PsySpy 2. maj 2015 kl. 12:31
I've downloaded a few interchanges assets but apparently I cannot place them on the map. What should I do?
Solar 1. maj 2015 kl. 5:23
@mrglide - couldnt have said it better myself! Looks great though!
mrglide 3. apr. 2015 kl. 18:35
Bostin'!
I do have a slight gripe with it though...you missed out the cones and ever present roadworks on the M6 bit; oh, and the eternal scaffolding underneath the road decks :) :)
aiyel 25. mar. 2015 kl. 14:28
@timboh: that's a qquestion I can't rightly answer. It's supposed to be the I-70 - I-25 interchange, but all the aerial shots I've seen claiming to be it are actually part of that bigger cluster to the north.

All I know is that it's legendary for being a complete cluster as far as traffic management is concerned, at least pre-redesign.
RiXXj 25. mar. 2015 kl. 10:55
Sexy this. <3
Timboh  [ophavsmand] 25. mar. 2015 kl. 0:13
@aiyel: Any chance you could post the coordinates for it (Google Maps, Open Street Map etc.)? The three interchanges set up like a triangle is directly north of what Wikipedia states is the Denver Mousetrap, the interchange between I-70 and I-25. Just want to be completely sure which one you're referring to ;)
aiyel 24. mar. 2015 kl. 9:09
Unfortunately, I can't find but the one aerial shot of the old version. The new version is actually three interchanges in a triangle formation, and is still a bear to navigate, but without the hairpin turns that caused the torpedo incident in the '80s that prompted the redesign.

It's a classic example of lack of proper prior planning, as the highways grew rapidly and a bunch of improvised fixes were thrown on to accomodate the increased traffic. In other words, exactly how the average Cities player manages their interchanges.
Timboh  [ophavsmand] 23. mar. 2015 kl. 14:36
@aiyel: I've actually never seen such a design before! While from a road planner's point of view it looks like a suicide interchange, it would be really fun to recreate this in Cities Skylines! It's a pity I haven't been able to find any good photos of it, since I'm still unsure how I shall make the ramp layout to match the real-life equivilant.
aiyel 23. mar. 2015 kl. 13:29
Awesome! Any chance of you recreating the old Denver Mousetrap?

Corpus-Dei 20. mar. 2015 kl. 15:43
I actually live not too far from this thing - good job; if I was going to be really unkind though I'd point out you missed the railway line out :P
D-B-9 20. mar. 2015 kl. 1:32
great
roberto tomás 19. mar. 2015 kl. 18:39
hey timboh , I really like a couple of your junctions, and I need a good 3-way. but this is nowhere near compact. Got a somewhat compact 3way you could recommend?
Totally Not A Robot 19. mar. 2015 kl. 10:36
I have drove through this, its not too bad
Uncut987 19. mar. 2015 kl. 6:46

chu 19. mar. 2015 kl. 6:41
What am I supposed to do with the four low density roads that come from underneath?
tz 18. mar. 2015 kl. 3:23
Do you want to kill people? Because that's how you kill people :D :csgoskull:
FivoxTTV 17. mar. 2015 kl. 17:51
Just in case you miss the first exit. And the second. And third.
A Fat, Angry Serval 17. mar. 2015 kl. 17:09
Gah! The only interchange that's worse than anything in Asheville!
Limewax 17. mar. 2015 kl. 9:27
Круто! :)
BuTT 17. mar. 2015 kl. 8:52
норм
Burlokk 17. mar. 2015 kl. 6:48
This interchange is so confusing to make it work to it´s full potential, and it takes alot of space.
However when you figure out how it work, and combine it with some clever roads along with a roundabout intersection, this is the best intersection yet to connect cities to the highway, this have solved alot of trafic problems for me :), The main key is NOT to connect the 2 outgoing roads, let them go to your desired destination without connecting them... i just wished i had this from the very begining!,,good job
FeuerSeife 17. mar. 2015 kl. 1:24
I like this interchange its pretty nice too connect two districts over a highway.
Mobius ∞ Pizza 16. mar. 2015 kl. 19:23
@Cerberus This is exactly what it is, a replica of the junction at Birmingham
Timboh  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2015 kl. 15:08
@spudcosmic: All hail the Flying Spaghetti Junction! May you forever drive along his noodly appendages! ;)
spudcosmic 16. mar. 2015 kl. 14:58
Finally, a junction created to honor our noodly overlord.

Haha, I Love it! I make some CRAZY Interchanges in my Cities because A. Its fun! Its Challenging! And how anyone couldnt love making them is crazy to me! B. I loved making Interchanges in Sim City' But never truly knew how much I loved the art of it and how much I truly love and respect how designers of them, actually get them to work efficiently. It amazed me since I was a kid, and saw crazy Interchanges like ive never seen in L.A.! Stuck Since... LoL. BTW, Great job and lvoe your work! Thank you lots!
DerRick 16. mar. 2015 kl. 11:54
