For those wondering how to use the map, use it with an overhang light model at full horizontal and vertical settings so it covers ground. The map itself doesn't have a light and if I remember correctly disabling lights doesn't work either

Render the scene and then open it in GIMP/Photoshop/FireAlpaca and just place an alpha layer of an Earth PNG over it. Cheapest way to do it.

I got the lighting done, but i can't seem to find earth anywhere, I was going to make a version of the always has been meme, but i need the earth to do it. If there is any tricks I missed please tell me.

What you wanna do is right click and disable lighting, and then position your camera since you can now see the map in fullbright. After that you should re-enable lighting and spawn some lamps.

I'm going to use this so I can make an animation of Russia (team of heavies) and America (team of soldiers) racing to get to the moon, and when America finds out that Russia made it first, it's going to zoom in on a monitor that shows the Heavies kazotskying on the moon.

Right click on the viewport. You should get a option to disable lighting
