There is still frost ocean above scandinavia. I understand you have limited time, but please hone up the scandinavia.

Yeah, unfortunately those compromises had to be done.

I guess the map size didn't really allow you to use Northern European countries. (Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland)

There is imbalance for England quite heavly, they make two gold a turn starting off.

Just a brief note: It seems to lme that the map has a bug (or may I miss any prerequisites?). All leaders haven't any skill attached. You can only see black emty circles instead of real skills like water magic etc. Further if you dare to click on them the game crashes completely. Finally - if you start a new scenario and leave it to start it again the maps eased availlable any more.

I've been wanting to update it a long time, but haven't really had the time. I want to add the new factions from the latest DLC and also do some work on the balance of the map. Like you said, add more resources, wandering and spawning monsters, ruins and the like to make it more exciting. We'll see when I have the time.

Hi Antiscamp, just wanted to know when you were gonna update this ? Because sometimes the map really feel bland.

So I did my own version (with no scheherazade that I dislike but with a real Moor leader) with several changes (more ressources, more historical cities, archons in Italy and Greece, dragon in sicily, giants in Scandinavia and much more), I wont upload it but if you are interest, I could send it to you. :)

For the Halflings, i suggest to you to place them (at least one independant town) in England (because the halflings are very similar to the Hobbits from Tolkien), or maybe in East Europe or in Spain/Portugal if you want to keep England as it was actually, anyway you decide :)

Yep! The Tigrans in the Middle East and the Frostlings in the North. That's what's going to happen. Once I get the time. I'm really into GTAV right now, but hopefully real soon! :)

Obviously scandanavia did not fit due to size constraints. Looks awesome! Hope to see an update with DLC factions added. I'd suggest Tigrans before Halflings. The halflings are the most boring faction IMHO.

The map itself looks very nice, but in terms of playability and fun, I found it to be very boring. I started as Saladin, and it was just turns of boredom compared to say, just playing a random map. I would suggest adding more fun stuff to do and explore.

It's a neat map, I can't say I've encountered many other factions - but I sprinkled some customisations of magic archetypes fitting existing rulers. Played as the Vikings and started somewhere I believe to be Rus. Vanquished the teutonics fairly early (they seem a slight tad bit too close IMHO) and met the Byzantines...

Finding it a lil bit harder to find mana resources (unless it was your goal to go low-fantasy) maybe there closer to mediterrenean not sure as i haven't built a harbour yet or seen the map entirely.

However I just wanted to say thank you for releasing this, this is reminiscent of Warhammer's mock Europe and I am enjoying my campaign. I hope to play an updated version and support you in future mods.

Thank you all for your continued comments! April 14 is when the Eternal Lords expansion will be coming out with all the new, good stuff. It's not a very good day, since GTAV is also coming to PC on that day, and I've been playing GTA since the first one in -95, so I'll be checking GTA out too. However, I'll also start updating the map with the DLC stuff asap.

SkaarSmashKikou: That's a good idea. I thought about having the Frostlings in Scandinavia, but I think Russia is a better position for them, so they can really use that terrain ability they have. I have the equivalent of the Teutonic Order in Poland.

The frostlings should start in Russia, as this way they will be a permanent menace for those in eastern europe. Or maybe in Poland, for game balance

This map is my first campaign in AoWIII, and I can't get enough of it. Really enjpy doing the quests and exploring the treasure sites. I don't know why more people are not downloading this map. I'm still loving it.

There's also going to be another race introduced in the new DLC, not only the frostlings! We're also getting the Tigrans. They look like Khajiit with a Middle Eastern flavour. I'm planning to make those properly inhabit the Middle East and Northern Africa.

You have some great ideas, Gwydden! I never thought of an Ancient Era map, but that's definitely a really excellent idea. I could even make a map limited to the Mediterranean area, making more room for Italy and a detailed Greece. Have some great Carthaginian vs Roman drama going on. Or why not - have a map limited to the Greek areas with the archipelago! Ah, the potential! thanks for the ideas; I will implement accordingly in the update :)

Great map! I'm still exploring it, but I do think it could stand a little more dwellings. Maybe a good way to represent 'skraelings' if you ever do add Vinland? I could easily see archons in Greece, Egypt and/or Italy, giants in Scandinavia and fey in the British Islands. Just throwing that out there, but I think the map is excelentelly made either way!

Have you considered doing a 'Classical Era' version? As in the same geography, but based on the time of Acient Rome? I would definetely play that.

that's a very good idea, starkwolf. I was thinking about adding Vinland (America where the Vikings landed and colonized). I didn't have room for Iceland, sadly. But yeah, something out west would be cool and Atlantis sounds like a lot of fun!
