@Nerovar11 - I know the concept may be foreign to you, but mod authors have actual lives, kiddo. They don't exist to pander to over-entitled twits on Steam.

So forgive me for being an old fart but I have the common sense (42) mod do I need this and if I do is it just a case of subscribing and it being overwritten with the new files or is there more to it?
BiggusMickus For 19 timer siden
Hooray! Installing this fixed the mechanic-ing errors and allowed me to repair my car at last. Well done, people involved. Well done.
Hunterr For 21 timer siden
I stll the fireplace error, what isit?
Malkiot  [ophavsmand] For 21 timer siden
No, the outdated parts were context menu fuel management for campfires, BBQ and fireplaces, theese now have inventories, and repair recipes for nightstick and plunger, which are now included in vanilla. The other things should work.
fluxtorrent For 23 timer siden
nevermind, sleepy brain, I was seeing the subscribe date and confusing it for the update date XD
fluxtorrent For 23 timer siden
Is this still necessary after Braven updated common sense?
For 23 timer siden
PLEASE dont tell me the outdated features are the ones like crowbar to windows, washing clothes, and the qol item management

Many thanks to the modding community for keeping the mods made by Braven alive. I bow to all of you. I also hope that Braven is doing well and having new, wonderful life experiences, like becoming a parent or something similar. I hope the best for all of you.

@IsuccToez The fact they were banned from a game says a lot about their character and the fact they were trying to compare their tiny baby "mod" to a full fledged mod like common sense is hilarious. They are just one of those people, unfortunately.

Just a PSA for some folks--People make mods on their own time, for free. Sometimes things happen in life and sometimes people pass away (Rip Stendo). Sometimes others in the community need to step in and help the original creator, it is what it is. Be grateful other people step up and take the time to do so if you cant do that then you shouldn't be here.
IsuccToez 15. okt. kl. 22:39
@space is cool Do you really have nothing better to do?
Zara ♡ 15. okt. kl. 22:37
@space is cool No one said they were no longer going to maintain the mods. She just said not right now. Maybe try not to jump to the extreme. Be patient.
space is cool 15. okt. kl. 21:06
anyway im not coming back here so before we call people losers and pea brains why don't you actually check their profile and see that they also have mods on the workshop lol. im not coming back here so you guys can have fun calling me something else in the comments since that's all you guys can do.
space is cool 15. okt. kl. 20:41
I was effected by one of bravva's mods, comments littered with how broken it was, yet bravva did nothing about it (pretty sure comments were locked after my comment too last time I checked). Its irresponsible to keep up mods that are half working. just hide it at that point.
space is cool 15. okt. kl. 20:39
Also I do have a few mods, and as far as Im aware they still work currently from last testing. If anyone brought up issues in the comments I would try to fix them. If they ever ended up broken I would just hide them If I couldn't fix them. there's no reason to just leave half broken mods on the workshop and let people go through that.
space is cool 15. okt. kl. 20:37
@Zara

sounds like a made up story. if I was a mod maker and I could no longer mantain my mods and they started breaking, I'd mark them hidden until I can come back to them.
Malkiot  [ophavsmand] 15. okt. kl. 9:23
@Falkon
Yes, I think so.

@0.01 KD
I released as is, because I only noticed the two pressing issues of the error on startup and vehicle repair and as a patch (not fork) one had to load before the mod and the other after the mod and I wasn't able to find a way to make that happen with just one mod.

If you have further fixes, I'd be grateful if you would share those and I'll implement those as patches.

Falkon 15. okt. kl. 7:02
So to make sure, I have to load the mods in this order ?

3586053117\CommonSenseEarlyPatch;2875848298\BB_CommonSense;3586053117\CommonSenseLatePatch;3586145865

And on the workshop ID line do I need to repeat 3586053117 like this ?

3586053117;2875848298;3586053117;

Thx !

@space is cool

They made the mod work with B42. Then they started having health issues. At least she took the time to message people and apologize. Some mod authors just disappear all together with no word.

If it bothers you so much how about you take the time to make mods, for free, for everyone to use. Then when you get sick or suffer from life's many ailments, see how you feel when people are bashing you left and right about how you aren't updating your mods. Walk in another persons shoes before judging. Don't be a pea brain, have some perspective.
0.01 KD 15. okt. kl. 2:37
1. Common Sense Early Patch
2. Common Sense
3. Common Sense Late Patch

oO ( )o( )

I simply rewrote his mod for version 42, so there's no need to install three mods at once.

Why are you making such a cumbersome installation?
Flexible Games 14. okt. kl. 12:41
Ahhh! Okay, that makes sense!
Confusion abated!
Malkiot  [ophavsmand] 14. okt. kl. 11:41
@Flexible Games
It's a patch, not a fork. The base mod is required. It's first patch, mod, second patch. Hope that clears it up.
Flexible Games 14. okt. kl. 11:23
"Patch must be loaded in two parts"
Proceeds to list 3 parts.
Now I'm confused @_@
puppygirl 14. okt. kl. 10:17
was just thinking about something like this as i lost a character due to an infection i couldn't clean, cursing the gods that i cant make sterilzed rags or bandages with perfume and such.
space is cool 14. okt. kl. 7:45
a mod that is left to rot and break is worse it coming into existence. bravven made so many and just never touched them again. no fixes, no updates, just left to rot. it's arguably worse. :deadrat: and pretty funny mentioning compassion and empathy but then calling people losers, really ironic.
Coconutsales 14. okt. kl. 7:03
@space is cool

Go make mods yourself, then, you fool. They do this shit for free. Unless you paid them for a commissioned mod, you can't complain. Even then, compassion and empathy go a LONG way. Stop being entitled, loser.
Skyfry428 14. okt. kl. 5:22
@elspbeth that's a default b42 feature
elspbeth 14. okt. kl. 1:43
I love that I can pick up trash bags from trash piles, double logs from the white wood etc. I have used Bravens mods for a long time now and respected Braven as a modder. I was sorry when they were not updated so I thank you Malkiot for updating it. I am not a programmer and wouldn't even know how to find the folders to try and fix them,
space is cool 13. okt. kl. 22:55
lol how are you going to delete my comment and then reply after that, just leave the comment up. braven has all of their mod posts locked and many of their mods they have left broken. what I said was justified
ivmakk 13. okt. kl. 11:32
Unfortunately, real life can hit you so hard sometimes that keeping mods maintained ends up far from being a priority. Braven’s last comment on his Discord (which is still open to join) mentioned health issues and that he/she physically unable to contribute. I hope the original author return someday with good news about recovery, but reality is what it is.
Malkiot  [ophavsmand] 13. okt. kl. 10:21
@space is cool
Life happens, people get burned out. Modders have no obligation to make and provide mods in the first place. I, for one, am grateful for the modders that make and share their creations. I don't think them not maintaining them for the rest of time is a failing nor a reason to be gleeful.

@WORTWORTWORT
People have every right to their creations and copyright is automatic even if most people in the modding scene don't decide to pursue.

Reminder: This patch exists to honor and preserve Braven's work, not replace it. Please keep comments constructive and respectful to all modders.
Inverspe 13. okt. kl. 7:44
nice
ivmakk 13. okt. kl. 6:06
@Malkiot thanks a lot for the mod - you’re really brave to fix one of Braven’s copyright-aggressive mods! :VBCOOL:

@IsuccToez yep, we’re in contact, and I’m keeping an eye on Clean UI-related reports here as well. As you mentioned, I’ll do compatibility testing on my side, but community feedback is also super helpful since I’m physically limited in testing every mod combination and scenario. It’d be great if anyone can confirm that the current mods work without issues with Clean UI B42.12 Hotfix - or report any spotted issues in the Bug Reports Thread, which I’ll also be monitoring.
Snow 13. okt. kl. 5:55
What a legend. I shall name my next character after you Malkiot.
opliw 13. okt. kl. 5:03
awesome now do the one of us one:steambored:
IsuccToez 13. okt. kl. 3:47
@Malkiot I contacted @ivmakk on Discord for his Clean UI B42.12 Hotfix not being compatible with Common Sense, he said this about your Patch:

"I’ll test it later today and update the compatibility note. From a quick look at the mod’s codebase, it looks promising for solving the known Common Sense issues. In the meantime, you can give it a shot and let me know if you spot any compatibility issues — any collaborative feedback would be helpful."

He also tagged you on the official PZ Discord Server in that message, so hopefully you guys can get in contact to make mods great again ;^)
Malkiot  [ophavsmand] 13. okt. kl. 3:10
@polmoliner94
I am aware. That is why I am not redistributing a modified version for the mod nor any code of the original mod. In the current implementation, I am reassigning function pointers to my own, empty, functions. For future patches I will continue taking the same approach, only releasing patches where I can guarantee no code from the original mod is contained within the distribution (for example by monkey patching base mod functions at runtime).

It's just a compatibility patch that requires the original Common Sense mod. It's no different than other similar patches such as "Common Sense + Essential Crafting" which Braven has had no issue with and should fall squarely under fair use.
IsuccToez 13. okt. kl. 2:54
@polmoliner94 I hope Braven won't take any action (I doubt it), it would be really scummy since he/she isn't working on the mod.
Liarzax 13. okt. kl. 2:46
hell yeah, i vibe coded a fix locally but to fully fix it i had to split it across an early patch and late patch too, but i thought i was being an egg so finding a steam release is better, thankies! kisses to your nostrils!
polmoliner94 13. okt. kl. 2:46
I apreciate what are you doing fixing this incredible mods. But for you to know, common sense has copyright, the creator has all the rights of the mod and doesn't allow other people to touch it. After that is said, this are two of my most used mods, and I apreciate a lot that you patched the last issues, god bless you
Malkiot  [ophavsmand] 13. okt. kl. 0:23
@SpenceXCII
I wasn't having the hotbar issue in testing. If you do, please report it in the thread and attach the error log.

This does fix being able to repair vehicle parts. The issue was the two fixing recipes, which are now no longer needed. The patch prevents these from loading.
rawgu 12. okt. kl. 22:58
yay thanks <3
SpenceXCII 12. okt. kl. 22:51
Does this fix the issue of not being able to equip melee weapons to hotbar and not being able to repair vehicle hoods and trunks?
