how do you fire the mega deck cannon because it requires energy but has no capacity for energy

Try to add a balance / countermesure for the part using the thermal lance as base, somethign like the ion storm can't penetrate the ship if hit energy shields, but can damage the shields like the thermal burning effect for T-L, if the shields are destroyed or desactivated by something the ion attack can slowly damage in AOE strike like thermal lance.

You can use this as a base for creating a huge deck or bigger ion cannon than shoot these powerful ion blast storm.
