I think I'd prefer even more gold on a pair of aussie fists, like if he had gold rings or gloves as well. But I think this is pretty peak anyway, and would be awesome if it worked in first person. The conceptual taunt kill would also make this something everyone would want just to try taunt killing.

@Zeugziumy Australiums don't use separate models, they're extra skins on existing models with different VMTs that specify the use of a gold cubemap. The Purity Fist's nails aren't mapped to any part of the texture, so to get the nails to show up I'd have to edit its UVs, something I'm not sure would even be allowed given it's a community item and Valve doesn't like editing community items without the creators' permission, even on their own end.

@Doc If you made the nails slightly thicker, maybe it would show up on the Purity Fist glove, no? I'm assuming this submission works by having separate triangles that fill/covers Heavy's default nails?

Valve probably considered this before; however, the design is aesthetically unappealing. And honestly, I vehemently agree, I wouldn't want to use this in-game. The Source engine’s rendering pipeline isn’t exactly friendly to tiny, high-detail reflective surfaces either... Australium weapons already push the engine’s material shaders (golden sheen, reflections, phong shading). Now, utilizing that onto tiny fingernails would be too subtle to notice at gameplay distance, or look plasticky and uncanny because the reflections wouldn’t map correctly. And besides, why would you even want the stock fists to incorporate this element

@Zeugziumy Unfortunately, the Purity Fist bodygroup does not map anything to the nail area, so the gold won't show up on the left hand while that item is equipped. If I could change the UVs to allow it I would, but that's out of my control.

I want to see how this looks with the Purity Fist, please.
