The mouthless face, single large glowing eye, speaker where the other eye should be, hairband with antenna protruding, the wing-like gun arms, the thin long-fall legs, the nifty hair-style, and Ear-like parts with the Aperture Science logo on them, all come together to make a very strong design!
It's really easy for me to imagine the Turret's voice coming from this model. (Makes me wish we had a TFA-Vox of the turrets.)

The only gripe I have with this design is the thin wire things being the support for the entire upper half, instead of a full connection to the upper and lower halves.

This Humanoid-Robot version of the Aperture Science Sentry Turret is the best Humanoid redesign of anything Portal related that I've seen!

Thank you!

I really like this version of your design, the skirt/dress and the hairstyle feels like it would fit in well with old Aperture, the eye adds in that bit of creepiness, and I enjoy the 3650 reference on the defective turret.
mochi  [autor] 25 JUN a las 11:26
They're even funnier the 167th time I read them!

I was wondering why I wasn't seeing any "CLANG CLANG YEOUCH" copypasta comments until I saw at the bottom of the description that comments like that will be deleted. I gotta say that's fair because I too am getting tired of seeing the exact same things copy pasted half the time.

re-reply because of wording

one last thing I had forgotten to add:

my bad if my first comment came off as aggressive, I was a little frustrated at the fact that what felt like someone's honest question was answered in such a way

:p2cube:
Skecks 16 JUN a las 6:16
considering the context you gave with your reply, I think I completely misunderstood your other comment. I totally thought you were talking about the turrets' voices and not their appearances being male, lmao

honestly, I can see how horny posting in these comment sections can make steam build up—especially considering how many of these you have to manage

you could honestly be correct about the canon in-game turrets having a gender. I never really thought about the fact that turrets might be gendered in that game until this conversation. I don't think I really used "he" or "she" to refer to the turrets as much as I used "it" either. Don't really know why that never crossed my mind, tbh

it kind of made my day that this whole conversation was very casual with no aggressive undertone, I legitimately thought it would take a different turn :GDNormal:

Re-replying bc I totally misread your comment and thats entirely my bad lmfao

1 - I replied aggressively out of annoyance at the idea that my design/model for the defective turret had to be male just because the voice was. If I was conforming to the games depiction of the turrets I wouldn't even have made this model in the first place. Plus I generally get alot of weird crap in the comments of these gijinka addons so I tend to be on the defense when replying.

2 - definitely agree with your take on the voices for the in-game turrets, the difference is definitely to convey tone more than actual gender. I personally chose to have them be female because I generally prefer female designs to male ones, but also because it fit the default voice quite nicely. Its definitely not a stretch to say the canon ones don't have any specific gender, though, especially considering that they're mass produced home security robots.
Skecks 15 JUN a las 17:07
damn, why reply in such an aggressive manner?

likewise, the idea that normal turrets are female is also dumb, in fact I think giving gender to turrets is dumb. You're giving gender to something that doesn't have any

I do think the use of more female and more male voices in the games are supposed to convey different feelings the turrets give off

Hello, I'm currently working on a scene like this, and I'd like to make it possible to pose for a curtain call with more detailed and refined positioning. Could you make it so that I can adjust the panels on the skirt and arms?
mochi  [autor] 8 JUN a las 13:09
because it's my model and i decide what it looks like

also the idea that defective turrets are automatically male is dumb
traviswimmer3 7 JUN a las 20:55
why is the defect turret look like that? bc its voice in game doesn't match it.
Serika 4 JUN a las 5:31
the ragdoll folds like a lawn chair, but maybe that's a good thing depending on if you wanna pose it, even though the arms can't bend past 90 degrees.
