@backspace Well thats unfortunate. You can play with Better Car Physics in the mean time as that mod is more regularly updated, this mod will be on hiatus until B42 comes or I have some free time

i was wrong, shooting a gun with this mod installed makes the game world go invisible for a frame, the error was:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: 'zombie.iso.Vector3 zombie.vehicles.BaseVehicle.allocVector3()' at ModelSlotRenderData.calculateMuzzleFlashDepth(ModelSlotRenderData.java:266)

i figured it would need an update after better car physics gets one, but that makes sense

@backspace yes, as long as the devs don't change the code for cars. I'll make an update for this mod when full B42 is released, along with BCP mod

still seems to work on 42.10 from what i can tell

Could you include a video of how the mod works after the updates you made? Sounds better from what I can read
Astral  [ophavsmand] 13. juni kl. 22:56
@kps224 if you can read comments, then i suggest you check out the mod updates notes first
kps224 13. juni kl. 20:19
if @kevin is right, then the literal first line in the mod is extremely hypocritical

@kevin yes

Sorry, whats the point of this mod if it doesn't make a realistic clutch? The other person commented 55 mph in 1st gear without giving it gas?

;)

And thank you for the medal

Mod is now updated, remember to copy the file. Should be 27 files now instead of 6
EmberD 24. maj kl. 11:34
Cool. Now we need clutch line break and possibility to match rpms to shift
Astral  [ophavsmand] 23. maj kl. 21:02
@USER404 for now, yes
USER404 23. maj kl. 13:13
I am experiecing the same here, I can basically drive the with top acceleration and rpms without touching W. Is the intended behaviour for the mod then?
József 23. maj kl. 11:40
Ah well, hope that in the future you'll be able to craft some magic up.
Astral  [ophavsmand] 23. maj kl. 11:38
This mod takes the max speeds of the gears which are already calculated by dev/modders, so unless they change that, i can't do anything.
Well, i can hard-recoded the value but I'd prefer what the devs do because its more flexible

vanilla

@Jósef is the car from other mods by any chance ?
József 23. maj kl. 11:26
I tried modding it for myself, since i usually edit mods for private use but i am in no way experienced enough to do java modding.Anyways thanks for the answer!
Astral  [ophavsmand] 23. maj kl. 11:22
Well, in this mod at least. Because IRL you still need to press gas for the car to maintain speed but ZB implement might be too much so i simpled it down. When B42 's fully released I might update this mod to be more realistic
József 23. maj kl. 11:21
i know that but i find it very unrealistic that in first gear the car suddenly accelerates up to almost 90kms/h . That should not happen without pushing the gas pedal a bit,i should have phrased it better.

So tldr:
Unless my game is borked, the car IN first gear accelerates up quickly without any input from my side when it should only make the car "roll" at a steady low pace since not giving the car any gas will in turn not raise the RPM enough..I hope i explained it better, i suck at explaining things.
Astral  [ophavsmand] 23. maj kl. 11:12
@József That's how the clutch works, it accelerates the car to the max speed of that gear, what you are referring to is cruise control which is already in the game
József 23. maj kl. 10:59
great mod!I'd like to ask however if it would be possible to make it so the car won't accelerate without pressing the ""foward" (w) button? (Unless i am doing something wrong ofcourse..)
