I <3 the idea! iv been working.. failing really on gyro patrols mixed with a sensor like you small unit but in a large block ship to patrol just around the base. sensor doesn't work as far as needed so gyro orbit ships. that has a remote control function so they can be docked when needed. to resupply

Sage... I just thought of a way to make a better one that won't be shot down as easily... it does require pistons and rotors though... so it might be buggy. How do you post them into the steam workshop? I want to not only tell you... but show you... and I don't have any recording software outside an elgato gamecapture I got last Christmas... that needs a few extra cables it doesn't come with to record PC. It will be slightly bulkier as well due to the need to have room for pistons an rotors... I'm thinking one or two of each.

I honestly want to go ahead and try this... but I'm being too lazy to open up Space Engineers.

Gattling defense turrets will rip it apart, though. Maybe if you used a rotor or piston to have it trigger an internal detonation you could protect it's pay load? You could also make it a massive, multistage missile with explosives spaced out so that as it slams into the target it creates a series of internal secondary explosions.
