Weird. I can't reproduce it. Here's what I tested:
1. start mission with 'force new game' parameter on.
2. start mission, press 'Y' to force new game
3. I chose NATO, CSAT, and Cvilians
I also tried once where I set 'show sub factions' and chose the CSAT men faction
4. I clicked on the center 'Select Units' (under where I chose CSAT)
5. I clicked on 'helicopter pilot', then clrt-clicked on 'Pilot' and 'Helicopter crew'
6. I clicked on 'Start Mission'
7. Chose 'Arma 3' for the dlc, and clicked start mission
8. Once the mission started, I entered Zeus mode and check and all the enemy units were listed as pilot, helicopter pilot, or helicopter crew.

i tried that method but it seems like it keeps happening. probably a bug on my side. i want to select around 8 units out available around 15, but the game kept doing this i tried it around 4 times.

The 'select units' is pretty limited. It doesn't let you select units from various factions or subfactions. When you click 'start mission' on the faction selectio screen, it either uses the selected factions/subfactions, or if the 'select units' view is active, it uses the units highlighted at the time you click 'select units'. I'm not sure from your description if this is what went wrong.

Also, to select multiple factions/subfactions/units use the CTRL and SHIFT when clicking to highlight multiple units. Only those items that are highlighted when pressing 'start mission' are the ones selected.

hi, i have this problem: when i want to select specific units from a faction, it will always pick a subfaction unit differ from what i chose and it spawns the entirety of the subfaction units. for example, i chose specific units from the British Army faction, and MTP subfaction with around 8 specific units i chose. but at the match, it spawns from the DPM subfaction and all it's units. is there any confirm selection button or some sort?
