Won't the "hasInterface" condition make dedicated server and HC local units NOT be affected by the mod?

With PhysX collision flag disabled they still interact with buildings/tents and so on. Should be fine. If you actually notice something happening with it lmk

Actually, if I may...

I suggest you add a 'CBA WaitandExecute' of a few seconds, before changing the physics, since unit's ragdoll is needed while falling unsconcious, to properly colide with the enviroment, avoiding the body to be clipped inside some wall or something...

But, as a modder also, I suggest you make it clear for him to feel free on using your aproach on his mod, since he had the original idea.
