What you could do is something along the lines of: a make a mod that adds a new "canteen on sling" item that you can craft from a canteen and a belt that uses this slot.
Your mod seems to have an incompatibility with the Item Condition mod. The issue arises when attaching a canteen containing water to your webbing or belt. If the canteen is empty, everything works fine. However, when it contains water, the UI bugs out and starts generating five errors per second, which is problematic. The issue might rely on that the condition checker mod tries to check the condition of the canteen by using it's water % data which results in a mess. I recommend looking into this to resolve the issue!
If you're using others mods to attach a canteen to your belt/backpack that's a different situation.
