Sadly, I am not able to change the way ping data looks. If I do, then my messages will no longer be detected by the og pinger.

@loopuleasa, the data is still sent through chat but ep tweak hides it. Players who don't have ep tweak will see it.

@TomCatGaming, I am going to need the error logs to pinpoint the exact issue, especially considering the mod doesn't crash for me so there's a decent chance it's a mod conflict.

@AdgyCarp, hello, the waypoint functionality was uprooted and thrown away entirely when I was shaping the mod to match my own tastes (which happened months before the mod was made public). I have always seen it as an unnecessary feature.

Besides, the mod has right click action reserved for something else.

Hi Remi, it seems a certain function of the original mod is not working in this patch. You can't V+right click to set a waypoint for yourself anymore. Is this intended? If not, it would be nice to see this function restored with this patch, it was a really nice thing to have :) Thanks for making this patch, it's otherwise very neat.

@Pastah, no, in case of Environment Pinger incorrect regex does not crash the game directly, but rather leads to ping coordinates not being perceived correctly and instead being nil. Then the mod would attempt to use those coordinates to find the pinged object and cause a crash.

@Pastah, the original mod has an error in the regex responsible for detecting coordinates in a ping message. Other players could force your game to crash by sending a malformed message. A certain player has been doing that very actively lately, and that's why this mod exists.

One thing I would like to suggest is the option to toggle the sound of the flare that's exploding playing when you or someone pings something.

I've gotten a bit too used to hearing the flare sound every time someone pings a location/entity and I understand that some people would prefer not to have the sound played.

Glad you made this, really. I had to patch the original mod myself on my local end, but now that this exists I can retire the old mod. Plus it comes with more things!

(Also if the no Wortox insult thing is true your mod is getting a favorite.)
