And considering that all of the workshop paints I've seen that use it as a base are lacking a custom wear, I'm probably not the only one who doesn't implement it.
At least there's an albedo tint so lower wears are still editable by a fair margin.
And custom war paints don't work in casual altogether lol
Making the promo shots be a single image per screenshot (instead of the collage style) would also make it easier to look at the details of the skins.
Also, there is a mod for removing scratches, dirt & blood from skins and makes said skins look like they're FN (doesn't work on causal tho).
The in-game shots look like they might have been taken in higher quality, but I can't tell and if they were then any benefit of this is completely counteracted by their having been shrunk down to accommodate four to a frame.
