how to disable for the gamemode to give me weapons?

I am building on my server again. As now campaign mode works pretty ok for most of the part, I tried to implement Combine Suits and Pills, so people can also join the combine side in big battles. Sadly I can not get friendly fire working. It seems that the campaign addon has it hardcoded, so while I can collide with and also damage custom citizens and rebels, the basic npc_citizen based one are immune.

I could live with collide on for these kind of maps.

but please note, that IP and port might change some day, yet you can always find it in server list under "Half Life 2 Campaign" gamemode. They even added the lambda symbol, just for us !

Hey, thanks for accepting friends request. And it is good news: The weapon sharing problem is gone! Thank you so much, finally all that I have been building up to the last 6 months makes sense. No more free, unwanted weapons cluttering slots. And no more selling these in the shop, making the whole (rubber) money earning thing useless.

Just played a small campaign on my own after resetting my "bank account" to default, and it really made me think twice before I fired an "expensive" weapon. It is limiting the resources to raise the fun I guess, the opposite of noclipping trough maps in godmode..

If you could test it when the update comes out just really quick and let me know how it works that would be great. It'll only take a few minutes.

I would be interested in seeing this server, I might join it at some point because I enjoy campaigns. I'll update it and see if there is any complaints about it.

I will add another patch with a server variable at a later date if I ever figure it out, but at the current moment I think I'll just remove the code.

We run a modified server based on your plugin, you earn money (not real..) by killing, then you spend it to buy health, weapons and the like. The bug kills the complete concept.. multiple people even left the server because it was cluttering their weapon slots.
It seems as there is currently no way to directly link a server from here, but I guess that you will find it under the Half Life 2 Campaign gamemode.

It´s called Gibhaus Lambda, beside regular HL2 campaign (+ all [bugged] episodes), features a plethora of custom campaigns and coop maps, many connected via a transition addon. NPCs get replaced by a small chance using ANP replacer, no playtrough is the same.
In many maps we placed custom NPC´s to make it a challenge, even in Coop. Skill level is set to "regular spicy", can be changed to "habanero" if needed.
If you took the time to mod the original HL2 Campaign addon, you might like our sauce as well.

I looked into sh_init.lua, seems like line 140 is the cause:

139 -- Give them weapons they don't have
140 for _, ply2 in ipairs( player.GetAll() ) do

Could you just comment it out, and update the addon? I only heard complains about this feature, and after all, this is the version with spawn menu enabled, so if stuck one could simply spawn the weapon. And for the "purists" there is still the original version and Lambda Coop.
If you want to keep this in, and this is ok, I will dig into repacking GMA and uploading to workshop for sure. But I would rather gibb some combine to pieces in this time..

I'm not gonna be very fast to update because i hate working with addons. If you're wondering, the relevant code is located in sh_init.lua under the gamemodes folder.

I'll see what I can do. I looked through the git and found what I believe to be the weapon sharing code.

Is there ANY way to disable wepon sharing? Beside this, the addon is perfect, but this single "feature" destroys all the gameplay.

Do I really need to unpack this and fiddle with the code myself???

Hey, do you have the original addon downloaded? If so, then you will need to disable that one before using this one. This is a modified version of that add-on, it is incompatible with the original.

For any unfortunate soul wondering how to play with your friends, here is your salvation:
To play with your friends, you need to find the button that (usually) says sandbox that is located in the down right corner and press on it. Then, find and press on the "half-life campaign" button. Then, you may play with your friends.

Disclaimer:
This mod will not work without buying the half-life 2, some cutsceens may not work and
killing /disturbing npc's may broke the proggretion. And if you want to save your game, i don't know how to do so

I removed the manual override for the quickswitch key. The code where it detects if you press Q and denies the spawn menu is gone. Try it.

Yeah the spawn menu is also something i want to pull out, is there a spawnmenu command so that i can bind it? Cuz the menu key gets replaced by the quickswitch key.

You have to use an alternative playermodel selector. This was mainly for the prop menu anyways.

I can't make use of the gmod features despite only specifically activating this version. it still says playermodels are disabled

click start game and go to half life 2 and find the map d1_trainstation_01

what does one do after selecting HL2 campaign?

you run it by clicking "Sandbox" or "TTT" in the bottom right corner, and it will open a drop-down menu, where you can then select HL2 Campaign Addon.

Hello. When a friend and I are playing, any time one of us picks up a weapon the other person does not have, it forces said other player to spawn that weapon. Is there any way to disable that?

@Fire Bones TFA weapon base sucks, try a weapon base that allows you to disable its HUD

there's small problem with the SWEPs (I tried TFA since I use this base one the most) and it's , whenever I pick a gun from a weapon base, my HUD automatically gets disabled till I drop the weapon. is there any fix?

Correction: the addon they add has the same name, so one will inevitably override the other. The original is not needed.

This addon and the original are mutually exclusive, they take up the same addon slot. Subscribe to both, and enable only one at a time.

click the bottom right corner labeled "Sandbox", and it should show Half-Life 2 Campaign. If that doesn't work, unsubscribe from this addon and subscribe to the original addon and see what happens.

I would use the Black Autumn Playermodel Selector, as a bandaid solution for now, Uncivil, you can use the playermodel menu with a console command
