i might work on this mod again given the new method would fix all the bugs it has with kingdoms and stuff, in general tho i wanted this mod to make the stuff bh is known for in dd2 work as if he was a real hero, so i tried avoiding stuff like dodge or other stuff.

this mod is very funny cuz i had 2 very good ideas for paths, and i couldn't manage to make the 3rd one something i would consider a bh path, i am busy with a buncha other mods so it might be alot of time if i try this one again

dd2 is more limiting then dd1 in terms of stats, bh in dd1 had dodge but in dd2 dodge is more so seen less frequently to make it more valuable. i agree that it would be cool on bh, but in general bh theme and overall skill names don't encourage dodge, something like houndmaster would better fit a guard dodge hero

...i think BH should have some dodge capabilitys, like on Bodyguard or smth... just think its cool thats all...

I see, thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll be using this mod only in Confessions for now, at least until they improve mod support

there is def some jank with kingdoms
idk about the like relationship stuff, but with paths ye there is some weird interactions where you can only master the like starter skills, and you have to do some like finessing to get it to work.

i think i can fix the relationship stuff if i make the mod just add paths, no wanderer changes, but i will def wait for better mod support, rn the work around method i used is on its last leg, basically incredibly buggy with kingdoms

Does this work in Kingdoms? When I changed BH's path I couldn't unlock his path modified skill and when I left the Inn, BH's relationship with Jester was created and my game crashed

When using this mod it shows the unique skills for each path as being upgraded, and only lets me unlock the regular variants in the upgrade menu instead of upgrading the unique path versions.

does this have fixes for the confession 5 boss?

Hey, I just had a run with Thrilling Tablet and it appears the game doesn't detect Bounty Hunter as part of the party. The character I equip the Tablet to immediately gets the 100% buffs despite all 4 party members being alive

Yeah i dunno I tried doing what you recommended and running only the mod alone and the BH still doesn't appear in my crossroads

I don't think so, i don't know much about that mod, and it looks like a massive overhaul mod, i would have to work with the mod creator to get it to work, and that may cause it not to work normally, if they every wana tho they could just try and add my bh mod to there mod, but besides that i dont see myself making that happen

can you make compatible with darkest delight?

that might be why. I had darkest delight enabled, and its weird, because I did like half a run with those enabled, but on the og version (the one that was linked)

I have not been able to replicate this bug, some ideas on what it could be

- make sure bh shrine of hope is unlocked, bh may exist in the cross road even if he doesn't exist in the shrine of hope, leading to him disappearing as you cant have a hero if you dont unlock them

- make sure when you run this mod that it is a new run, running bh with previous data may break the mod

- If all else fails uninstall and run a moded save, get to the crossroad, quit out, reinstall, and then start another new run.

This bug i have noticed has never shown in any of my runs, and it may just be corrupted data, keep in mind this mod doesn't work with mods that change the alter of hope, or bh himself.

BH is still leaving at the first inn for me.

so the mod worked, I had him in the selection screen, went on a confession, left, and now hes gone completely. mod is at top of load order btw

Had a weird thing where BH appeared in crossroads only as professional with everything mastery and bugged out quote and description text, took him to first inn dissapeared like I hired him and now hes just not in crossroads lmao

bh act out attack data has been added, bh roster rank has been changed to rank 8

there may still be an issue with new runs/Memories on bh, i will see if i can replicate it but i have had this issue before, lmk if a new run after a confession breaks bh character

Yeee I tried it out and things broke every time I changed paths. Crumbfortunate, 'cos you did a very good job on the mod.

i have not tested it, but given that this mod adds images i would imagine that it wouldn't work, just have to wait for kingdoms mods

While mods don't normally work with Kingdoms mode, is there any chance it could work there by manually installing the mod a la how we had to before official mod support?

I've gotten a few older mods working in Kingdoms that way, but this one's a good deal more complex than the ones I've tried.

flash bang on defacer has already been reworked
it now has stronger damage, but the +200% combo damage is now +100%, with +75% also vs stun to make it harder to do its max explosive damage

I Have not tested it but this newest update SHOULD make his relationship stuff work, Along with that, i have balance changed his kit to be more in line with the kingdoms version, ALONG with changing Falconer again to Defacer, a path around explosive value

So I figured out the I have to fully restart the confession to have any mod or new mod to activate thanks for a solution

With the newest update, the BH has now animations for relationship statuses as seen in the game mode kingdoms. Perhaps you can now use the updated files for this version.

might be a problem with the mod due to the new update because i can no longer use bounty hunter or might just be a problem on my end.

@DarkestCat1d4 hello again, I had forgotten about this and also that I haven't played Darkest dungeon 2 for a long time, but now that I'm taking it up again I remembered these problems I had, I did what you recommended and so far it's back to normal, I'm going to try it and see how it goes.

so true, the micanic they had is fun, bh in the base game has a fun gameplay feel, but i feel the flaw is that bh simply lacks what other heros have, he has no hero story, no relationship mechanics, no custom inn item, no paths, no skins, no weapon skins, and you have to spend meta progression for him to have all his skills. I def feel rh missed the ball on bh, and I feel there "you don't know his backstory" idea fell flat when you notice that he has no story.

I tried also to add bh skins to this mod but bh lacks the ui to actually equip them lol, so that also sucks

Red Hook should just let us have BH normally, good mod have an up vote and subscription.

Works now after abandoning a run. Hope an update will drop soon which fixes his relationship animations. While he gets positive relationships he just has his battle animation clipping through the other characters.

I have not been able to replicate it, even with memories or with him not showing up at the cross road, the only advice i can give is to unsub and then do a run then abandon it and re sub. There may be a issue related to save data, but i could not replicate it. If anyone has this issue i would advise you attempt to reset this mod as i described, or try it on a different modded save

others seem to have simular issues when gaining memories on bh, i would recommend unsubbing to the bh mod, doing a new modded run, then resubbing and doing then starting another run to reset any save file issues. it may be a problem that the game simply doesn't have a way to record bh haveing memorys, but idk, i have not been able to replicate this bug.

I found that BH with a memory will cause white squares&purple text yesterday, so I deleted BH's memory, and went on with a new BH in first act. But BH disappeared in the first inn of valley, so I restarted the act. However, I couldn't find BH again in cross road no matter I activate or deactivate the mod. So I finished another second act but BH still didn't show up in cross road. Do you know what can I do to solve the problem? Looking forward and appreciate your reply~

I finished the entire third act with BH in the party and I didn't encounter any bugs, everything looks good

I just checked and it seems to be working again. No more white squares/purple text at the crossroads and BH doesn't disappear in the first inn. Tomorrow or the day after I'll play the whole confession with bh in the team just to be sure and I'll let you know if I run into any bugs

i noticed the newest version of my mod was in fact no correctly adding bh to the cross road, i dont know what could have caused this, i have reverted the mod to a previous version, no substantial changes should exist, tell me if on this version these bugs persist

It stopped working for me too, even his card at the crossroads is broken for me. I can't choose any skills or path, I only see white squares and purple text, and if I take him to the team, he disappears after the first Inn

I do not use Darkest Delight, but this mod straight up does not work for me either, sadly.

@keneolik a that weird, i don't know what that mod does, i would recommend try running the game with both mods unsubed and then doing a new run with the bh mod.

@wisestcrazy sorry for that, i have not tested if memorys would work on bh, this could be the cause for bh disappearing for other people as well, although i dont think i will be able to find a fix for this.

BH disappeared after the Valley Inn I think it has something to do with memories

The mod is completely broken now, any idea what it can be? some time ago I was using it with Darkest Delight and it worked fine, now it is broken and even disabling the Delight is still broken.

i dont have any plans for that at the moment, its a very simple mod, if you have the nexas version you could open up the bh file and just change the number yourself, otherwise ye i simple dont have time at the moment to make that/
