For some reason this crashes my game, even when I use it with Planetary Diversity as the only other mod

Thanks so much, that's lovely! Let me know if you like the changes or have other feedback.

Upon seeing this was updated I loudly said "Planet View! Wooo!" Luckily no one else was at home to judge me. I am super excited to have this back in my mod list!!

@tilarium
Yeah you're right! I'll be moving that in the next patch!
@flopp
No worries, glad you figured it out!

@WP This is my first game using your world viewer and I really like it. It's a little weird with PD and a few other mods that add new celestial bodies, but that's not a problem. I did notice one thing though. The button to view archaeology sites overlap the modifiers.

Ignore me, I forgot to load it with the library, lol.

Thanks for your work keeping this updated! Absolutely necessary for the larp.

Loved this mod playing it prior to 4.1, and still do, but I'm having the same issues as Asa coming back to it.

Pure Stellaris crashing upon loading map graphics. Wish I could give more info, but the crash is simply a vague EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION.

@Velosid
Hah, a 1440p monitor is well worth the upgrade I assure you! (Not just speaking about this mod!)
Velosid 10 de out. às 10:36
The interface ends up being too big for my small ass monitor. You are going end up forcing me to buy a bigger monitor, dawg
卡尔文迪斯梅特 10 de out. às 6:47
There might be an issue with the base file of the mod. You can try backing up the file, deleting it and replacing the original file to upload to the mod.
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 9 de out. às 2:54
@Freakshow
No,sorry. 99% of the mods code is based on things that invalidate the checksum. It is multiplayer compatible though
@asa
No idea, sorry!
asa 9 de out. às 0:23
Hello! Nothing is working. I'm uploading only your WP's 4.1.5 mods to pure Stellaris. The game crashes and crashes at the stage of loading the map graphics. I turn off WP's Planet View (4.1), the game loads, but there is nothing from the WP's library, no mods or graphical changes. Downloading from the WP's library. What could be the problem?
Astesia1437 8 de out. às 22:56
闪退的问题加了本地化就好了
The reason for the crash in the Chinese environment is the missing localization for the WP's library. It will work after localized.
And , how to change the planet names
Freakshow 8 de out. às 19:17
I might be poking the bear a little, but could we eventually get a version of this mod thats achievement and multiplayer compatible? I'm more than okay if whatever special effects or functions that common uses are gone, so long as i can use it in those environments.

@Zalpha
I don't believe there should be many such overwrites! It could be that steam has been slow in sending you the updates I pushed today, so some files are duplicated for your install right now. It won't cause any harm, though.

Thanks for all the compliments and let me know what bugs you find!
Zalpha 8 de out. às 16:16
I will look out for that. Honestly I just installed the mod, loaded it up after patching it with Irony mod manager (found it weird that this mod seemed to override everything in the library mod, meaning tons of files to override with this mod) and tested it out in game. Was blown away because I just expected a bigger planet view and didn't look to deeply into the write up about the mod. So the quality of experiencing it was much better than seeing the screenshots. Noticed you updated your other mods so will be patching those in before officially starting to play tomorrow. I love your work, thanks for making the mods and keeping them updated.

Let me know if it's fun!
@Zalpha
Thanks!! Did you spot that the top right starfield is animated?
Zalpha 8 de out. às 15:19
The animated parts are a nice touch, loving the mod.

@uggron
Much appreciated! But trust me I dislike the mirror effect too: Particularly on the Savannah, it makes the trees look awful. I think you were smart to ask about the panning left and right. It's what I wanted, too.
uggron 8 de out. às 10:13
@WP It is somehow both baffling and unsurprising to me that panning would be so difficult. Oh well.

I'm not gonna bitch about the AI art, don't worry. Even if I were truly upset about it, I'm not the type to get into that kind of topic on a workshop comment thread. If I really cared, I'd just not use the mod. I'm happy enough with what we did get.
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 8 de out. às 10:09
@Uggron
Panning would be awesome! So would just a quick scroll then stop once each time the panel opens. Sadly I considered and tried both, but both were pretty much impossible and not really supported by Stellaris' GFX animation tools. (Okay, there is one potential hacky idea but it's really mental and data/processing heavy). So this is the method I've gone with.

Ironically as much as someone might bitch about generative AI, it actually has the solution to this problem. Whisk can perfect close the seams together in a way that is totally imperceptible. We ran some prototypes of the effect in my discord channel last week with great results! The only reason I didn't do it was because I ran out of time developing.
uggron 8 de out. às 9:58
This is really impressive. I'm always torn on the inclusion of AI in any public project, but it is a free mod and it would be a truly huge amount of art to commission, so I get it. At least it's very well generated, both in that it doesn't have glaring errors and it matches the existing art quite well.

Rather than the weird mirror loop you've got going on for the left side element, I feel like it would be way better to just have the image pan back and forth. Like, it starts scrolling one way, then once it reaches the end of the picture it starts scrolling back the other way, with maybe a slight pause in between. That would be far less distracting than the obvious seams from mirroring the image, at least for me. Honestly I would be happier with a static image than the weird mirroring.

Crash in chinese environment
Fenrisúlfr 8 de out. às 6:35
@WP, i do mean specialization slots
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 8 de out. às 4:34
@Fenris
Do you mean "Specialisation Slots"?

I believe this mod will support those too, no patch needed, as long as the mod providing the city district with the excessive zones provides it's own gui for them. But that would be on their end.
Fenrisúlfr 8 de out. às 3:33
@WP, i was referring to the number of district slots (as some mods make the city district have 4 specializations
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 8 de out. às 2:45
@Fenrisulfr
More districts are 100% enabled, you just scroll the district list.
顺其自然2319 7 de out. às 21:42
oh really, this mod crashes in chinese environment
Wangfeng 7 de out. às 20:40
After my testing, I found that your mod for some reason doesn't work in a Chinese environment (Chinese localization). It's very strange.
Fenrisúlfr 7 de out. às 18:12
sadly i don't think more districts would be enabled, but building slots are supported
Skaeren 7 de out. às 17:59
As someone mentioned BPVR is a mod that changes number if slots, districts, etc. The mod author set it up so that you can choose the number of additional city slots, district slots and number of districts, hence why there are -technically- four mods needed.

Basically, any chance you'll support more than the default number of slots, because, honestly, this UI is fucking beautiful!

I started a new game to see it myself, and spent like 10 minutes just staring at how gorgeous the UI is. This is absolutely something that Paradox //NEED// to implement in base game (as well as giving us more slots in general, because their new 6/3 layout makes tall builds really challenging)
EJR 7 de out. às 10:19
@WP Posted some screenshots in the "Known Issues" discussion thread for this mod
顺其自然2319 7 de out. às 9:07
why my game crashes when only WP's Library and this mod are loaded, my game version is 4.1.3
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 7 de out. às 4:35
@Fost.fan
When did I say I'd given up on the project? I said 4.0 disappointed me and I'd be skipping it until PDX had finished messing with the planet viewer. We're 4.1 now and they have.
fost.fan 7 de out. às 3:20
@WP, I'm really surprised you've kept updating this—thought you'd already given up on the project.
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 7 de out. às 3:07
@Ksblaster
Thanks!
@EJR
That sounds like steam hasn't properly updated the mod for you - those are the old assets. Screenshots for me would help.
@Dudedhero
Tints don't appear on the production box, I'm not sure what you mean?
@Pants
Hah! I actually did think about that when I was setting it up (I set it to global, not country) but I figured the odds of anyone playing in multiplayer with the same mod were super low! Then here you are on day one.
Pants Shidding Man 56 6 de out. às 21:48
great mod! btw, the graphical settings at the top of the planet view screen seem to apply to all players in multiplayer, so when one person adjusts the settings, it changes them for everyone in the game!
Dubedhero360 6 de out. às 21:47
great mod! would it be possible to have it so that the planetary star tint has an option to not appear on the production box?
EJR 6 de out. às 19:55
Thanks for the update!
For some reason for some planets there is a black horizontal line where the stars are when I open the planet portrait. The stars themselves show up as intended and the image isn't dragged down or anything (I have compared it to my other colonies, the stars, buildings, etc are all in the same spot) so I don't know what is going on there. Some planets don't even show the stars or the landscape, just a black image. The rest of the planetary portrait works just fine from the new animation to the settings.

WP just wanted to say i love your mods big fan been waiting for an update on all your cool stuff hope you do well have a good one peace realy enjoy this one.
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 6 de out. às 14:53
@Cahtzturbo
Ah well it doesn't really matter in what way people choose to get more buildings/districts/whatever. What I can say is that this UI will display whatever they pick. I don't think people should be downloading a bunch of mods and submods just to change a couple of small values, though! Seems unnecessary to me.
WP 🥔  [autor(a)] 6 de out. às 14:51
@Spider
Thanks very much! Let me know anything you enjoy in particular (or don't!)
chazturbo 6 de out. às 14:35
BPVR refers to Better Planet View Revived. It has sub-mods that allow changing the number of zone slots the urban district has and the number of buildings that each slot supports.
Spider 6 de out. às 14:34
It's... beautiful.
