if that's not the case, idk what is. also, holding your scup on your back or just their hand doesn't let them grow and learn, and only makes them rely on you more, and make them lazy. the only time i would recommend holding your pups is when you absolutely have to.
ex: leeches, baby noots, room with an abundant amount of death pits, when a lizard is chasing them (they will witch to attack you so be careful), or in shaded citadel.
pups are VERY buggy, and if you want a mod that will make them not spawn in a wall, i'd recommend "no stuck pups" which prevents them from spawning within the shelter walls.
when they "tap" jump button, they don't jump fully, like in super mario (NES), if you don't hold jump, you wont jump the whole way.
Especially now with Poison foods in the dlc . it would really benefit pup gameplay to have toggles or extra data to learn not to eat those etc
its just crucial to consider whats gonna go on from this point ! im making a proposition based on that fact.

The slugpup was a Tundrapup from Pups+, which cannot eat meat, which could potentially have been causing the issue.
Either way, upon removing PupAI (this mod) and reloading the game, the pup did not exhibit this buggy behavior again.
i know it's not due to low energy, i have visible id on and he has high energy.
(also with a low energy pup he just keeps jumping over the bump instead of grabbing the pole)
it's not like they're getting paid
or whatever can be improved on is very hard to do
