@yoru, Well I have taken action and started to mix, getting samples from GB, taking sounds from vanilla weapons etc...

It's coming out quite nicely! I love using a firework trail for effects, its quite lovely hearing everything coming together, I will probably upload it before New Years if everything goes to plan and I'm satisfied.

@Wiz but festive record a door slam, pop a firework, hit a metal pipe, sample sounds from movies or games and try mixing shit. It's up to your own creativity, i can't give much advice. It's just something that needs lots of experimenting, there's no definitive way.

The magnum is not loud, it feels weak. I like most of the sounds except for the magnum and the shotguns. Is there a separated version of this where I can get the pistols only?

I switch from Definitive gun sounds to this yesterday and tbh the sounds are fine I don't feel like they're too loud, just appropriately different decibel levels. Had me fully appreciating just how much difference good sound can lend to feedback.

You're right, I swear to god if I had to compare L4D2's code to anything it would be any European car. Beautiful and fine vehicle, but the god damn thing is made artificially difficult as fuck to tune up for no other reason than to be convoluted.

Blame valve for giving us 1 second to work with for most sounds. Unlike previous source games where it doesn't matter how long the sound is or the quality of it is like, here it does. Besides, adding echo in a game with constantly changing environments isn't a good idea. Having tails for outdoor areas and vice versa is pretty cringe.

Not hard to customize myself though, i know how to extract the sound files from the addon's vpk and add to the base game sound folders for replacement.

This and all my other mods are all circled around the nightmare pack where i'm using an unsilenced mac-10, so probably never happening

Tried this mod out, sounds nice but kinda wish the Silenced SMG sounded.. well, Silenced.
