It took me a bit to understand that this was a vault suit, but now that I know. I really like the creative liberties taken here

Eh it's not even neon, the paints are toned down.

I think it's fine as is, the item doesn't really get ruined by an optional paint region, you can still rock it clean.

I love the concept but I don't like that paint region. The cosmetic just gets ruined by egregious neon colors. I agree with what cube said, get rid of the paint region and just make a separate style. For now I'm going to have to vote no, but if the paint gets changed I will happily vote yes.

i think you could get away with making a separate style for a yellow more vault-y version since engie already has a lot of yellow
the paint region here just looks weird otherwise

I can see the intention of that but there's also to consider the other paints that result on something not that pleasing to the eye. Even if you had originally gone with yellow as the default color the area where the color is applied is an issue

You could make the back of the orange/yellow tones the teams already have, Engineer's helmet and glove for example, and keep the front region

The reason for the paint region is to allow you to make the suit a fallout vault suit with paint.

I really want to like this as a Fallout fan but the paintable region it's just too big and sticks out a lot. Personally, I'd just make the collar area paintable as a nice embelishment that adds on just enough because overall this is really good
