It seems that babies, although they inherit skin color genes from their parents, do not apply their color.

it nice to get more human skin-tones, with the added misc melanin, really nice.

I was worried misc melanin wouldn't get an update due to biotech incompatibilities, so glad to see this! the vanilla skintones are disappointing, humans come in so many more flavors

I finally found out the problem! It was humanoid alien races! I didn't even realize I had it enabled.

@SanguinarcAQL You should be able to put it anywhere, but putting it close to the bottom insures it gets final say, not that it overwrites anything, only catches and adds. The ONLY way load order can matter is if some other mod is overwriting the vanilla code that I patched.

@SanguinarcAQL @Miss Bonafide Huh, load order issues. The code is bog-standard, so some mod is causing shenanigans. I've attached the color wheel in the description, some of Lugaru skin tones are pinkish, so might be it. But let me know.

I'm lugaru and I'm happy to see somebody re-work Misc Melanin! Genetics changed the game a lot so I did not wanna start again from Scratch.

Still got the red shade even when toggling it off on the mod option, I did try to move the mod a bit in the load order but nothing. And just like Miss Bonafide, the setting for the mod seem to sometime not show up, no idea how or why.
Sadly, I have no error or log related to this mod or pawn generation so no idea. Tomorrow I will try to disable mod to see if I can find the culprit

This mod doesn't appear to have any mod options available in game. Does your main version without Misc Melanin have mod options?

@SanguinarcAQL Let me think, only incompatible mod I know of is No Reddish Bodies, since they overwrite the same shader method in the code base. But you're probably not using it, so that's not likely it. Well let me know of the options setting worked for you, that way we can narrow it down.

In my case, dark skin tone also keep the the red shader, but im going to try and toggle it off in the mod option, thanks

Light skin tones still receives the red shader, since it looks nice. You can toggle it off in mod option menu, or do it by a per skintone basis in the Defs folder.

I second that. I use this mod with Character Editor and disabled CE's custom shader but I still receive the reddish overlay.

Any recommended load order or knows incompatibility ? I still have the ugly red skin shader but also a big modlist
