I would highly recommend using the colorations in the second image for both teams cause I think they are BEAUTIFUL. The red team side has both reds and blues, muted enough to work too and the gold/ yellow is such a good accent colour for that.. I think it would look amazing on its own.

Colors are fantastic, however I think it's too visually simple. It needs some more textural variety. Each texture is just too plain, the most detail here is just simple brush marks.
