The oil is used for the snow texture, that's why there is virtually no oil on the map.
I like to keep the tree count as low as possible to help with performance but also to let players place trees themselves if they like without being limited by the vanilla limits too early.

This map is really great. You have balanced buildable area and great looking mountain surrounds well to make everything fit naturally which I think is often overlooked. Great work.
