good map, but unbalbanced: too good for UW nation, especially if it is Ys.

Average players share is 16 provinces and there are 20 UW provinces. Yes there are 3 of them separate, but still UW player has their average share totally UW and can safely take land provinces.

If you're using my file for it then it is possible that there's some internal key pointing to this upload? I only did the Wraparound version since it's the "standard" version of the map. I'll do a quick pass on the non-wrap version and send it your way.

Unless you mean things like Upload Description and things, at which point I'm just as confused as you are.

one thing that i cant figure out for now is that every time i try to update my other map version( the non wraparound ), it edits this version instead, ill try again tomorrow as i already made too many updates today.

Also, sorry, I'm realizing those misuploads were from me, I could have sworn I remembered to change the tga namefile in the map doc before sending it to you but now that I'm looking at the zip I apparently didn't. Whoops. Should be fine to modify the direct Map Title in the file now that the .tga is pathed correctly again.

Alright, booted up a test save when the update loaded up, everything looks good to go. Spawned into the correct provinces, mountains don't have Sacred Sites.

I did only just notice the strange detail that it seems like all the Mountain provinces are still double-tagged Plains. I have no idea why, I didn't think that was even an option, but it shouldn't really do anything in mechanical gameplay so that should be fine. Strange though.

It does fix the Mountains -> Monastery of Light bug, but the Spawnsite bug I'm referring to is actually a completely different bug. The tags that controlled Yes/No Throne Spawns and Capital Site spawns broke in a similar way on the conversion.

All the original 'No Throne Spawn' provinces became 'Yes Nation Start' provinces.
All the original 'Yes Nation Start' provinces became 'Yes Throne Spawn' provinces.

So you'd have Thrones spawning where players were supposed to, and players spawning in a variety of incredibly odd positions vs the original. I got both fixed and also reapplied the original text description in the map preview.

Otherwise I figure most people already have their eyes on this specific upload, so I'll just send you the files to do the update. That way we get the bugfixes out to the maximum number of people instead of having to start from scratch. I'll get them zipped to send to you shortly.

Hey, I know it's been a bit since your upload, but I have a version of the map that fixes the mountains and spawnsite bugs if you'd like me to send it your way for an update. I'm not sure if you're still active in the community but felt it would be rude posting it myself without checking in first since you've already got the upload.

A monastery of light fix would be great, all the converted maps suffer from it.

Whenever I try to start a online game with this map, it gets stuck on the 'uploading map' step. freezes at roughly 5%. :(

This problem can be solved by correcting the terrain mask values to the new ones for Dom 6. I forget which ones were affected. It's not a bug in the game, rather that a previous value was changed to one that causes the monasteries to appear. Might be as easy as a find-and-replace fix, but I'm not sure.

according to criptfeind its due to the addition of glamour terrain when converted or just the conversion adds a bunch of monastery of lights for another reason, hopefully not too bothersome. ( maybe the old pantokrator of this world liked people praying to him lol )

Apparently I was wrong (and the manual is lying :P) and it's not weighing towards holy sites, just automatically placing a monastery of light in many provinces.

Cheers for porting this classic map, unfortunately there's a bug in the map (and the no wrap version) when converted from 5 to 6, caused by the addition of the glamour terrain mask, that makes many provinces weighted towards spawning holy sites to the exclusion of other sites.

Fellow map maker here. There is no way for us to add tags, Illwinter has to do it themselves for every workshop item 🤣 presumably they are working on a way for us to do it.
