that's fine, you should never force yourself to do something you don't enjoy anymore

Just dropping a line to let you guys know this is a really low priority for me right now.

Essentially, this was my 2nd ever mod for this game and my modding skills have improved 1000%. I made this so poorly that changing anything about it is a massive pain and I'd need to essentially remake it from scratch to make it easier for me to update in the future (which is what I already did with the Monroe Doctrine, my first mod).

Not giving any ETA because I can't promise anything and have other mods in the pipeline I'm more interested in working on, and at the end of the day this is just a fun hobby for me and I'm only gonna spend my free time working on mods that I enjoy working on. Fixing this one is gonna be a real ripping off the bandaid moment.

Appreciate all the interest. Check out my other mods, there's almost certainly something else you'll enjoy.

When Update?

Hoping for an update, UK without this feels particularly boring

This looks awesome. Hoping the next update will have good AI functionality.

I think your mod breaks the survey decisions for the suez/panama canal for UK. More specifically they don't show up for super powers unless they already own the relevant state, for reference see the wiki article.

@AlexTheTall The AI is really bad at using the mod features properly. It’s something I’m working on improving for the next update, though with 1.6 Britain (this update made the Britain AI really stupid somehow) I find they always end up in a really bad state and end up with very low score, which will nerf them.

Some time this month I’m releasing the first major update for the mod which will make the journal entry dynamic - that is to say, Britain can lose it under certain conditions and then if another country manages to become the sole superpower they can get it instead, with suitable flavour changes [media.discordapp.net] for a set of countries, and a genetic one for others.

Hello Kate, if I do not play with Great Britain, does it make it harder for the AI to actually become too strong as GB?

Thank you.

will we be able to form the imperial federation?
Kate the Sibyl  [skapare] 2 mar, 2024 @ 18:18
@Alexandrea Made the tooltip changes I mentioned. Also I agree with you that being able to puppet Qing is broken, but I didn't want to undo the change that enables you to puppet majors. So instead, I made a new Unrecognized Great Power rank that will stop you from puppeting them

I would like to say after playing the mod that it is definitely still OP... you can protectorate China during the first Opium war and take the treaty port while still having less than 100 infamy. It may take a while to get back to Steady as she Goes on the journal entry if you do that though.

Displaying the number of points per category would be very helpful, so I do look forward to that update. I imagine I've lost most of my points to infamy considering I was over 90 for a bit, but... ah well.
Kate the Sibyl  [skapare] 29 feb, 2024 @ 15:26
Yeah that is just normal vanilla behaviour, the only thing that would affect that (potentially) in the mod is the ability to protectorate major powers, which I restored. The sways and reverse sways for protectorate if they like you enough is a vanilla thing.

That said the mod was initially very imbalanced. I’ve done a lot of tweaks to the points gain and slashed the passive modifiers and now it’s far more balanced, while still offering you some very powerful random events. I’m open to feedback on all of it ofc.

My immediate plans are to change the journal entry text to show how much points you’re actually making or losing from each category for better communication, and then I think I’ll finally be satisfied with the baseline content and start adding new stuff. Watch this space. And also my profile, I’m currently reading The Great Game by Peter Hopkins so I can add appropriate historical flavour to my WIP Great Game mod, coming soon.
Lottililex 29 feb, 2024 @ 11:15
@Baliczek that's probably just luck, I've seen some crazy stuff like that in vanilla.
assblaster69 6 feb, 2024 @ 9:38
Good to know
Baliczek 6 feb, 2024 @ 3:26
I don't know if it isn't to OP, bc Mexico and Argentina offered me becoming a protectorate while fighting Indians, the Netherlands wile fighting liberals in Indonesia (this was more understandable), Bolivia, Machuria and Venezuela during the civil war
Omerta 5 feb, 2024 @ 20:15
looks good
Kate the Sibyl  [skapare] 5 feb, 2024 @ 19:16
@assblaster69 Not yet, that is something I’m working on
assblaster69 3 feb, 2024 @ 3:23
Can you take over Britains hegemony if you become far more powerful?
kaiser 2 feb, 2024 @ 17:05
@katethesybil yes of course! I thought the issue was with VTM or the Ultra Historical series, but I checked and it was with "Royal Splender: Historical Monarchs." The bugged event fired and replaced the Monroe Doctrine one for Britain, not sure why. Thank you for your mod and help !!
edwinhys1414 2 feb, 2024 @ 5:04
is there korean translation mod?
Hamza 2 feb, 2024 @ 4:50
Funny how a Britain mod is the only large content mod ever in Victoria 3
Kate the Sibyl  [skapare] 1 feb, 2024 @ 16:58
@kaiser That’s a mod conflict but I’m not sure why. Can you tell me which mods you’re using alongside it and I’ll take a look for potential conflicts and remedies
kaiser 1 feb, 2024 @ 16:43
gave me bugged permanent events that i couldnt close, might be a mod conflict tho
Hyperspearman.Swf - TheRyuSword 1 feb, 2024 @ 6:30
If you want a truly Hegemonic Britain, simply have Britain reform the succession laws of Hanover, Hanover doesn't become independent (they won't like this, so make them rebellious), and now you have an interest in Germany's unification, unite Germany under Hanover, boom, two Great Powers united under one throne.
Talib00n 31 jan, 2024 @ 10:59
Very nice idea. Will try this out.
