Nvm, I fixed it for myself. I had the .dm files directly in the mod folder instead of creating subfolders for the mods which fixed the problem. Thanks for your time anyways.

I'm not sure honestly, I've very rarely used nationgen. You should ask someone who knows about nationgen. You'll likely need to modify the .dm directly.

On dominions 5 it works without issue.

It does work without nationgen but how do I prevent the nationgen mod to remove nation 499? I tried disabling the "hide vanilla nations" option but that didn't help. Appreciate the quick response time and help btw.

This might be because of your nationgen mod, assuming it removes nation 499. Check if Omniscience works without your nationgen mod first. If it does, then you have to fix your nationgen mod in order to use Omniscience.

No other mods

Using EA Omniscience 1.01 with 2 Nationgen EA nations.

Which omniscience mod are you using, and do you have any other mod enabled?

I keep getting the error message "Nation 499 has no valid god. (hm 5056)" when trying to start a game as Omniscience. Anyone know what's wrong?

Ah, good point, I'll fix this in next update.

the broken defense spells are path 8-blood instead of 9-priest so they can't be cast

@Ather - My bad, sorry hard to read for me, I copied and pasted in a document for ease and saw I was running two at once.

Have you read this page above the comments?

Yes, for watching AIs you can use v1.01 which doesn't spawn scouts.
Kai 22 Feb @ 8:32am
Be aware that the scouts employed by the omniscient nation will impact AI behavior drastically. The spies can not be used to observe a game involving AI.

So the only way to see late game ai vs ai battles with this mod is to learn and start editing your own maps? :rui: damn

I see. Thank you for the help!
ÆtherNomad  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 1:08am
Yes, you have to modify the map with #spectstart as described in the map making manual. https://www.illwinter.com/dom6/dom6mapman.pdf

So how do I make it so that only I the Omniscience player always start on the corner of the map where there is water? I'm trying to make it so that no other water nations start in that one corner besides Omniscience. Is it even possible?
ÆtherNomad  [author] 25 Apr, 2024 @ 6:03pm
No, fixed starts work on a per nation basis. A true fixed start only works for one specific nation.
Gentleman Crow 25 Apr, 2024 @ 3:37pm
Question, what happens when I add in Omniscience in a game that has a mix of land and water nations? I'll of course give myself as the Omniscience player a fixed start. However, if I give myself a fixed start position then would the game get a water nation mixed up with Omniscience and put the said water nation in the fixed start that I wanted the Omniscience to be in?

Ah, thanks for the report, will fix!

This currently does not show graphs for Omni because the cap site given for Omni is the Dom 5 number (890) for Records of Mankind not the Dom 6 version (1099).

Nope.

I saw a video of Lucid where I was able to "open" each IA player to see what are the orders. Is it with this mod?
ÆtherNomad  [author] 26 Jan, 2024 @ 10:29am
Yes, the typical way to do so is to give it a fixed start in a province that lacks any connection to the rest of the map.
Chiefchirpa7865 26 Jan, 2024 @ 10:28am
Any way to avoid the omniscience pretender from dying around year 3-5? I would love to observe the entire game instead of just some of it.
ÆtherNomad  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 3:56pm
Yes, it's possible, but this would be a feature of the map you are playing on.
Demonsthenes 21 Jan, 2024 @ 10:39am
Does the game system allow putting the Omniscience on an isolated plane? I was thinking that could greatly simplify the work for map creators of having them not interact with other nations.

(If not, I think it could be a good feature request for having a mod able to add a plane with its own map file -- e.g. one could imagine an "Inferno" mod that created such a plan with a bunch of special sites and events involving Devils ... but such a mod would really like to come with its own map for that plane). Though maybe it's possible to write a tool that merges the "Inferno mod" map with the base map.

A fantastic tool for seeing how AI interacts with mod content, been using this for years.
