i cant open it up says that its corrupt
spacedout 26. sep. 2018 kl. 21:36
Oh that's an idea.
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2018 kl. 21:33
You could try AdvRotor>Hinge>Hinge90>Piston and repeat. That would at least be compact, and the rotors and pistons could be set and locked into specific positions by script.
spacedout 26. sep. 2018 kl. 20:50
Yeah I have that mod already :) I was more thinking something that can expand. I really liked the transport mod via antennas but it was discontinued :/
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2018 kl. 9:26
Hey Spacedout, you can sortof do this with the conveyor hinge mod. Just alternate the rotation of the hinges 90deg every hinge, and it will be about as flexible and far easier to construct.
spacedout 25. sep. 2018 kl. 21:16
To bad there isn't flexible tubes in the game or a mod for it. As far as I know.
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 6. sep. 2017 kl. 21:01
@CatMan, it would probably work fine, though the large ships' smaller relative tolerances would be far less flexible for something made of the same amount of blocks.
Jaksantio 5. sep. 2017 kl. 13:32
My first thought upon seeing the design is "what if it were a large ship instead". I don't completely understand it mechanically, but i would like to see the giant death worm if it were possible.

@Rocker You're welcome :)
Rocker 22. juni 2016 kl. 0:36
Thank you for your work. I appreciate it!
Tomppa 1. juni 2016 kl. 9:12
can you make this into a bueprint
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2016 kl. 22:04
if you get a good solution please send it my way, id love to check it out
jaxjace 17. feb. 2016 kl. 20:53
I have much to think about.
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2016 kl. 14:34
Large grid has the same options, assuming you use the hinge mod. The tube will be 5 small blocks thick instead of 3, and there's no way to put engines on it to move it. you'll either spend minutes playing with rotors and hinges to get it into position, or you'll need to drag it into position with another ship before being able to use it.

Small grid can be connected to your station and left in place, it should use station power instead of its own resources to maintain the connection.
jaxjace 16. feb. 2016 kl. 16:20
@Baalrog, you think there is a way to do it without making a small grid? ideally i want transfer of mats to be as simple as possible.
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 16. feb. 2016 kl. 12:36
@jaxJace this should "work" on planets, but will be heavy and pretty fragile.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfyKE1csuB0 LSG used it on a few of his vids, it works, but is big and heavy. It looks like block destruction is on so he's not cheating.

For your purposes I'd get the hinge mod and make a small ship with the large hinge>advanced Rotor>Large Hinge>advanced rotor etc. It will have the fewest moving parts, be lighter than my version, and easier to build.
jaxjace 13. feb. 2016 kl. 14:44
Can you make one that works on planets well?

Im looking for a small and simple design that will be able to fit through small hangers to reach connectors.
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 10. jan. 2016 kl. 10:15
@Half
Not sure what you mean. You need to lock all connectors to eachother to transfer through the entire thing, otherwise it's free to wobble around.
Daytime 9. jan. 2016 kl. 15:54
HOW DO YOU WORK THESE THINGS?
The Desert Fox 12. maj 2015 kl. 16:33
@Wounded_Fighter, It is a *World* not Mod.
Lathy...or is it 11. maj 2015 kl. 19:00
These look AWESOME - they'd be great for connecting a little mining ship to a big production/refinery vessel, an agile way for it to get new resources. What'd be really swank though is if you had a system to auto-build and auto-recycle segments as needed - then your arm could grow to a length limited only by your ship's resources and your computer's ability to render the segments.
Wounded_Fighter 14. feb. 2015 kl. 3:26
This doesnt seem to show up in my mods list?
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 9. feb. 2015 kl. 11:41
aah, Yeah you could do that, but the pistons and rotors are pretty buggy. Look forward to explosions :)
Zarbone 9. feb. 2015 kl. 10:58
I had the most luck doing this with the plain version. the other one will require moding the desin
Zarbone 9. feb. 2015 kl. 10:56
The piston works fine it works by pushing the other pistons in the line makes it flex. that way it dosnt conect and impead the movment. just make sure you set the disance max to 1 m
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 9. feb. 2015 kl. 9:21
Also there is a connector hinge mod that give you an elbow joint that can transfer materials. It wont be quite as flexible as this design but far more stable since it's only using 1 "rotor" per segment. You'll also be able to transfer cargo without locking the entire arm into position.
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 9. feb. 2015 kl. 9:17
Pistons wont do you much good unless they have a pivot at each end, meaning more rotors.

If you want to control it without a head, you can power the rotors directly. I dont remember if they're named appropriately though.
Zarbone 8. feb. 2015 kl. 16:50
Im trying to add pistons to make it move without a head on tho i cant replicate the parts im stuck trying to connect a red to a blue?
Kam Solastor 1. feb. 2015 kl. 21:16
The world won't load for me - could you perhaps make a blueprint-only version?
Baalrog  [ophavsmand] 1. feb. 2015 kl. 21:09
It should be a workshop world
Kam Solastor 1. feb. 2015 kl. 13:31
Is this an empty file or something? There's nothing added to my game when I subscribe to this - not a blueprint, not parts... I've triple-checked my mods list, and that I'm subscribed, and it doesn't seem to add anything..
Pure_Diamond 24. jan. 2015 kl. 16:37
Someone please make a mod with similar functionality to this!
Poduchen 4. jan. 2015 kl. 6:38
Good mod :B1:
Useful for building Serpent Ships.
S U B M E R G E 7. nov. 2014 kl. 8:09
hey guys could someone please do a tutorial on how this s actually built I'v been trying for ages and still can't manage to replicate it (even whilst looking at it on the same world)
I have so many good ideas for this but can't actually make them

Enigma Machine 4. nov. 2014 kl. 16:03
its a pain to try to make this in survival i wish someone would make a video on how ot make them instead of what im having to do is take screen shots and keep alt tabbing

Excellent! Love using them on stuff :D:
super.aardvark 17. okt. 2014 kl. 0:44

Amazingzmyster 6. okt. 2014 kl. 15:26
can you plz turn this into a blueprint?
elementalblaze79 25. sep. 2014 kl. 14:05
Epic, Swapped out the grinder for a conveyor block & 6 gatling guns! Turret Snake anyone?!
SpectreOne 21. sep. 2014 kl. 9:36
I know this is probably a lot to ask, but is there any way to convert this over to a mod instead of a world so it would be survival viable? (I love this mod by the way)
Amity 20. sep. 2014 kl. 8:59
By far the most odd yet most impressive workshop item ive seen to date
You have earned a rating and favorite ^^
