I have some bits of constructive criticism though:
*Her offsets in a bunch of animations are really off-center; it's most noticeable with land and jumpstart — her crouch uses the same sprites as her land animation, and yet the land one, when compared to her crouch, is sooo far forward. It worsens her gamefeel a little.
*I feel like her shorthop is too short! Her aerials have close to no time to breathe! In case it's like this so she can land fast as well, don't forget there's always hitfalling! Hitfalling off a shorthop doesn't really work rn because you almost always start falling before the attacks come out.
*F-Air has a huge blindspot right in front of her; between her body and her hand.
Each of these consists of some line changes, so they shouldn't be too troublesome, hopefully...
Not feeling the Spreadshot for a Neutral Special. Making her Neutral Special the Watermelon toss would definitely balance her kit out.
Congrats on the mod and best of luck with the contest. Definitely one of the characters I'm rooting for!
She is overall fun to play as, with her moveset having a lot of range to make up for her otherwise sluggish mobility. (heh)
She gives off what I could describe as a boss, but is balanced enough to be good for competitive play. Her Burst mechanic is also very good for keeping her more powerful moves at a fair level.
A few critiques I have are that certain animations need a bit more work, and certain moves would probably require some more sounds and effects (I.E. Dash Attack lacks any audio)
On top of that, I also think Gretchen has a very based design and you should be very proud! You did a really good job on this!
She's got a neat play style, leaning more on attack than movement, I like it! I especially like the watermelon toss, it takes some careful planning to execute well.
She seems like a cute and fun character in general, really.
Sure, she could probably use a few animation tweaks and polishes, but y'all in the comments crying fat fetish are crazy.
The writer's barely-disguised fetish
its like super high quality tho good job
