The files I uploaded only include the map data (bsp and vmf files) and the txt files necessary for the weapon usage. However, there are language files for various countries in the game folder, so it's possible that something caused Japanese to be applied. My PC also has some parts changed to Japanese, so I will look for a way to revert it back to English.
I'm looking forward to your mod
Please release it for sure. I'll be happy to play it
It began with simple, imaginative conversations like "What if the Combine were having a shootout in the city I live in?" or "It might be interesting if soldiers were fighting worldwide"
However, when it came to creating the actual map, I had to adapt it to fit the original game, avoid errors as much as possible, and had to make changes because I couldn't get permission for some models
It ended up in this form due to these limitations...
I want to apply this discovery to the next map creation, and I've once again realized that designing maps is indeed challenging
Anyway, thank you for leaving your comments
I hope you'll allow me to comment
It's been a while since we published this map on the workshop, and we've noticed something about the players' playstyles
There are several playstyles, but as far as we've seen, they mostly fall into two categories
Many players have uploaded gameplay videos of this map on YouTube, and a significant number of players who expressed dissatisfaction played the game at a significantly faster pace than we had anticipated
I hadn't considered that aspect
This has been a major learning point for me and a cause for deep reflection
The intention was to create an enjoyable, prolonged firefight in a single large room by spawning multiple enemies
Therefore, we didn't provide health kits or make the mission to reclaim the base difficult
(In the future, learning from this experience, I'll add more doors and events to forcibly halt the progression in new maps)
Sorry for the delay in replying
OK , I'll try to improve that in the next map
Thanks also for the bug report and suggestions
I will check the bug again on a different new computer
Yes... I have also tried to prepare some surprise events to make the map enjoyable for many players, but maybe that will come up with some players who will be concerned about it
I will keep this in mind when I create future maps
All right
(Swelter is a free HL2 mod on steam btw)
Thank you for leaving a comment evaluating the content of the map
I am glad too that you enjoyed it
Actually I did not know about the existence of that game until you wrote your comment here
I will try to play that game when I get a chance
When I created this map, I tried to mix elements from some of the games I played as a child into the map's story and events
That process was very difficult and hard
I don't know if I did it right, but I think I did a good job and it was a great learning experience for me
See below for the games that influenced me in this map making process
- 007 GoldenEye: Rogue Agent | Nintedo DS
- Mario Bros | Nintendo
- Confidential Mission | SEGA
- The House of the Dead 2 | SEGA
- Crisis Zone | namco
