skall, they still have the 2015 energy balance (i have tested it) its no longer proportional

Couple notes.

The max power output of a standard panel in space is .15 Mw. Your panels are scaled for .12 (actually closer to .115).
Additionally the build cost is solar cells is the same. It uses less iron but about the same silicon. Iron is easier to get.
There is also a weight issue. I noticed it when building on mars (0.9) gravity. At 14 standard panels Hinges and rotors only need 33.6 mNs to move. But your panels at 28 needed 48mNs to move.

I do like their looks better and i ofter prefer their spacing/placement to the default. If these issues are addressed i would gladly use this mod. Feel free to message me for clarification.

The critical errors listed were due to a corrupted install of SE itself- reinstalling SE fixed the errors I was getting

With the new release there is a series of critical errors of the following type:
"object reference not set to an instance of an object"

does this still work? I tried using it on a MP server and every time I try to place a solar panel I get disconnected...

Interesting mod, I would have use it if it had huge solar panels. The less block used in a build, the smoother it is server and client side. The solar panel are more demanding because their power output is always in flux, multiply that by a great number of panel, you got a lot of entities to track. By merging several panels into one, you have the same output for a fraction of the load on the computer.

Damn why wasn't this showing when i searched the key word "solar". How hard can it be. Anyways, thank you. I don't understand why you're the only one that thought of this. I had this in mind forever, these solar pannels were too big sometimes and just made everyhing look like crap.

This is a great mod, except it does not seem to work on small ships(from what ive noticed, anyways). That, and it needs texture update.

Hey man, those look really good and are nearly exactly what i am looking for. I wondered, if you could allow me to redo the textures and tweak with the value a bit and upload it as a standalone mod, of course giving you full credit. That would be beyond awesome :)

Perhaps larger panels that continue the "theme" set by the smaller ones (with scaled power output, of course) would be the answer to @Aecnoril's request?
What I mean is adding sizes like this:
Large ships:
8x1x1, 8x2x1, 4x4x1, 8x4x1 (etc.)
Small ships:
10x2x1,20x5x1, 10x10x1, 20x10x1 (etc.)

Idea is that you can (sometimes) replace multiple smaller panels with one larger one.
That would reduce block counts, and might reduce lag due to power calculations (on really large arrays).

I don't use solar panels very often, but when I do it's these panels.
They're just plain better at being able to fit somewhere without having to base the entire design around them. Great for communications repeaters between planets and stuff like that.

Found a bug where the "Centered" panels have Potentail, but keep reading that their Output is 0. I waited 3 days for my hover bike to charge. When I switched from the cetnered variant to the "edge" variant, they began charging right away.

Love the mod though, and I love the centered panels. If we could get a hotfix for this, that woulbe great.
