Is there a way to easily disable the famous people AI names? Or what setting should I replace to get rid of it

@Vin Petrol, the nascars are great, the damage pattern is very weird but i had a question. I do not know if you watch ed sound head ( soundhead entertainment ) but his most recent video had the nascar legends cars with the modern skins on them how do we get that?

Deleted old comment. To anyone reading wondering how to win this, read what the Mod Author wrote. You have to wallride and build up speed. I won with the 259 engine by a few seconds and by the end I was going a consistent 270mph

Thank you, yes my recommendation is 5-6 laps on tallega, dynamic AI set 1 or 2 on expert, and engine power up or down depending on you.
Any car can win with this race, and you should have to gain bumps from behind or wall ride to win, if you get the power right its a real challenge getting through the cluster and holing off the fast back markers at the end.
The AI, suspension, gearing........... was all built for that track

It does work for multiplayer but I guess you'd have to kick the idiots who don't pick the stock car, to be honest the type of player who picks a different car almost by definition isn't interested in racing.
It was not built for online but I've seen youtubers like comodo gaming do it and with nascar bots added.

Trying to get this mod to work for multiplayer and can't seem to find a restriction for the cars when hosting a server. Is this supposed to be a singleplayer only mod?

Not a fan of the new names, any way to go back to legend names?

One question, are you planning to convert all the NASCAR skins to livery _c? If that were done, it would be possible to increase the resolution of the textures a bit and they would still take up less space since the livery only use 3 colors and don't need _n and _s textures and their 2 extra versions for damaged like the _c5 does. Excellent mod btw.

But I just do what I suggested, I turn off names above cars and drag up the car list to see who's in front or behind.... that way they're actually true to life.

If your a bit mod savvy, you can swap the actual Ai file bit from the mod, with legends file or another Ai names file, there's no need for me to update it so your edit will be safe, but you won't be able to use it online as all players must have identical files.

If you can find an Ai name mod of Nascar drivers, there may be one, placing it above or below (cant remember sorry) the nascar 88 mod in your mod list l, should overwrite that part of the mod and change Ai names. The cars themselves are actually named as the correct drivers, if you turn off Ai names and look at the entry list to know who is where, but as you probably know there is no way of tieing the correct Ai driver names to thier real cars.

Is it possible to change the names of the AI drivers to the legends names? Mine are stuck as the celebrities lol.

You seem to have nescar legends online active too, as they are named oldsmobile in that.
Just activate Nascar 88 and track mods.

Getting a 'Fatal Error' message when trying to select the oldsmobile. "bbexception: substitute file does not exist". This mod is the only one enabled. I can seem to run a custom event on the included tracks with a regular car, but when I choose the oldsmobile it crashes. Any ideas? I also have damage set to anything other than 'intense".

Don't mix it with other car and skin mods.
It has 700 files so you're getting mod conflict, only activate this mod (Nascar 88) and track mods of you wish.
Effect mods like pinball etc are also fine.

im new to this so there might be a easy way to fix this, but everytime i start a race all the cars just get all brown and dirty. How do i stop that?

Just be careful with mod conflict, Nascar 88 is designed to only run with track mods, you maybe OK mixing other car/skin mods you may not. It has 700 files lol

ive started up a server with this mod and very track pack 1 and 2 ....in order to join they must be in order...nascar 88, track pack 1, track pack 2. only have a few maps running atm for testing
server name = Vin Petrols NASCAR 88

Have this mod and track pack active to be sure there's no mod conflict.
The track pack has a lot of tracks so you'll have to scroll to the right for a while, you'll see selection with a black background with a white oval, that's where they are.

The map pack does not work and i cannot find them under custom event
