After playing with this mod enabled, I really wish that there was a mod that just made life crystals give you less hp so each crystal actually feels like an achievement instead of one part of one crystal

Nothing I can really do about that unfortunately, this seems to be an issue with tModloader rather than any individual mod. Why TML wouldn't sync configs to the host is beyond me.

Love usin' this mod. But it seems that unless I tell the other players to change their config to match mine they cannot join a world.
The config is small and it is an easy fix to guide people towards, but is there a way to have the server's configs take president and override or allow players with miss-matched numbers to join in so that I don't have to instruct each person to change configs before play for hostin' a server? :p

The bestiary shows the odds of shards dropping, but if you mean a way to calculate how rare the shards will be when you configure the amount needed for a full crystal, I can add that quite easily, it just won't be dynamic (meaning you'll have to do the math yourself, but it'd be better than nothing)

Do you think you could display the drop chance in-game? Messing around in the config I was worried that the shards were not dropped by enemies, so I think it'd be neat if the drop chance was at least displayed in there to let players know enemies can drop the shards and with whatever the odds are from the shards per crystal selected. (I'm not asking to be able to configure it, I just want to see it in the config so I can easily view the odds)

I could def make that a config option, not a bad suggestion. There's a few complications I can see myself running into but otherwise it's doable.

Is it possible for this mod to alter Life Crystal recipes to instead give Shards of Life? One of the mods i have installed (Thorium) adds in a recipe that allows Life Quartz to be crafted into Life Crystals, and because the amount of Life Quartz required to craft it is so low it makes it easier to obtain & kinda defeats the purpose of this mod

Gonna shut you down right there, the way you obtain mana crystals is a lot different from life crystals, so I don't really see a reason to have a mod like that for mana.

A idea comes to mind. If combined with this mod https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3123513619&searchtext=mana we would have Shards of Mama, with vanilla mana crystal crafting recipe disabled. This would make a big impact on the gameplay.

Oh yeah in my experience 4 shards per life crystal is quite a lot even in singleplayer, feel free to set it to a lower requirement if you want, though do note that doing so will make enemy shard drops rarer.

Probably something someone else will have to do. If you're looking for a Dark Souls fix, The Story of Red Cloud exists, though it hasn't been ported to 1.4.4, still waiting for that myself...

Actually a mod that reworked the player to have Darksouls-like stat bonuses would be really cool, especially if came with a change to dropping currency on death with it

Looking into it more, yeah no idea how I'd conceivably modify a sequential item drop rule. The people who actually fish for life crystals are spared for now.

That said, you do have a point. I didn't touch golden crates because I couldn't be bothered changing its loot table.

Only a fool would resort to fishing, a naive fool indeed, for life crystals are a 1-in-8 drop from golden crates, which in themselves are exceptionally rare.
