I have no idea about multiplayer stuff. Good luck figuring it out.
marshmallow justice 13. mar. kl. 23:52
Yeah, that's what I can adjust. So I'm wondering how to fix the problem the other user mentioned where he said clients on a server have different settings to the server settings and are tripping more often/or less. *scratching head*
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 13. mar. kl. 23:42
This mod does't have ModOptions support, only settings are located in the sandbox options.
marshmallow justice 13. mar. kl. 23:22
hmm, I can access the sandbox settings, but I'm not sure how to address the problem the other user mentioned of client/individuals config having default trip settings (i would like to change it so walking will not trip). I went into main menu options, Mods (from old mod options mod) and i can't see anything, nor any specific tabs.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 6. mar. kl. 22:55
@marshmallow justice - I assume so. Someone reported it as such.
marshmallow justice 6. mar. kl. 14:38
when you say 'multtiplayer server config doesnt apply' does that mean the host sets, say, a high chance to fall, but then another player can either set 0 chance to trip/use lower vanilla value? the only way to make it sync correct is if all players set it same?
UnrealVenn 17. dec. 2024 kl. 16:38
just going through my subscribed list because of the b42. when update for b42? tats all
Osama Bin Swagging 18. okt. 2024 kl. 15:38
Been playing with this mod for like a week, is soo good and feels really immersive(adjusted setting in sandbox)
Thank you so much for making it and your other mods too. Really changes the way I play the game now:steamthumbsup:
Shal 31. juli 2024 kl. 1:48
It seems that the mod doesn't recalculate if you change the sandbox options mid-game. You need to quit to menu and reload.
Jon Smith 23. juni 2024 kl. 15:44
Hey! Tried this out as I LOVE more ways for the game to fuck me over. However, no matter what I change in the sandbox settings, it's feeling like I'm absolutely plastered anytime I'm near a body. Like, calmly walking, trip basically 90% of the time. Not sure how to fix it but as a character who wears glasses I can't stand falling over and then grabbing the old spectacles like Velma every time lol
VANGUARD 14. apr. 2024 kl. 11:13
Would it be possible to add experience gain in the Nimble skill when walking over corpses?
A tiny amount each time when the check runs.
A sizeable amount when the check fails, causing the player to trip.
Nimble takes quite a long time to increase so more training oportunities would be welcome.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 8. apr. 2024 kl. 12:09
Cryofwar - I have never played multiplayer and have no idea how to fix that. If someone knows, let me know and I'll push a fix.
Cryofwar 5. apr. 2024 kl. 9:49
I noticed a weird bug. The config doesnt actually do anything on the server side. Friends who have installed this mod are still tripping every 5 seconds because their client configs are default. (I have decreased them for my own client and on the server config).
Obviously this can be resolved by giving my friends my client configs, but the servers configs should override theirs by default.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 1. mar. 2024 kl. 0:19
@Segaside - Even though that is not possible, I have tried and couldn't replicate.
The damage and the animation functions reside in the same code block. So if one executes, the other has to do so as well.
Segaside 29. feb. 2024 kl. 16:48
I've noticed an issue with retesting this mod to disable trip while walking with the -999 recommendation and Murphy lore at 0. Since I don't like the trip chance happening simply by playing the game. However, though this does disable the animation. The damage can still occur as if you were still tripping. Causing out of nowhere cuts for no apparent reason. I hope you look into it. :)

@Novantico - Thank you :)

@worldprop - Thanks. Clothes already have variables that affect movement/combat speeds but since you said climbing, you must be thinking about a mod that's more comprehensive.
It'd be a multifaceted mod. Custom logic, UI integration, support for other mods...
If you're going to attempt it, try to tackle each aspect on their own. Look at existing mods, how they are built, and start with making smaller mods.
Lua is a simple language that wouldn't take long to learn if you dedicate some time.
You can do it! But only get into modding for your love of the game or self-improvement or some other intrinsic motivation, keep your expectations in check.
Novantico 17. jan. 2024 kl. 1:27
Oh wow, thanks for the great suggestions, B O B c a t! I gotta be at least a little bit more on top of my Steam notifications it would appear. Well, it's not much but have a fat Steam award on your mod for the assistance :)
worldprop 16. jan. 2024 kl. 10:20
I have been thinking of something like this but on a clothing basis, perhaps a variable I can add to clothing item scripts that makes that clothing impractical to run / sprint / climb in, i.e. heels or long skirts, flip-flops. Sadly, I don't know how to program, good mod though!
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 16. dec. 2023 kl. 1:11
@Novantico - Check out these mods:
Tripping Zombies
Zombies Trip Over Zombies
Novantico 15. dec. 2023 kl. 22:42
Any chance of a variant of this to allow zombies to fall too?
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 1. dec. 2023 kl. 1:40
Mod updated with a quick and dirty method to support disabling tripping while walking.
To do that:
1. Set the Walking Trip Chance value to -999
2. Set the Murphy's Law value to 0

For an ongoing game:
1. Get the Change Sandbox Options mod and open it's menu in-game
2. Do the things above
3. Return to main menu and reload your save
---
Also, the custom sandbox options may not have been taking effect before, I'm not really sure. But I put in a fix for that as well, just in case.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 1. dec. 2023 kl. 1:38
@Smiley Face Killer - Base trip chances are not 100%. Though, the final trip chance may reach that high depending on the player's traits.
Smiley Face Killer 28. nov. 2023 kl. 10:43
Just now tried this mod finally
I like it but it really is a 100% chance of tripping unless you aim walk

Really needs at least an option to make normal walking non tripping (Where (shift) jogging, and sprinting) is the only trip chance
Brundi 23. nov. 2023 kl. 3:39
A must have mod, only thing i miss is when playing split screen, second player is immune to triping and can sprint over corpses, while main player must be carefull.
DeQSer 22. okt. 2023 kl. 4:45
A good mod for suffering, it would be nice to add animation of walking on zombies.
Cy 20. okt. 2023 kl. 16:20
I was interested in the challenge, but in my experience the probability of tripping is near 100% unless you're in combat stance. I even set it to 1% and started a new game.
NightMayor 12. okt. 2023 kl. 7:44
Is there a way to have trip chance only when running/sprinting over bodies ?
Uristides 14. sep. 2023 kl. 17:24
se cae una cantidad exagerada de veces
Depresión Severa 8. sep. 2023 kl. 11:04
XD I need to read more, thanks. Bring more neat hardcore mods please.:steamhappy:
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 8. sep. 2023 kl. 4:00
@Rey pollo - Yes, and also sneak walking, as stated in the description.
Depresión Severa 8. sep. 2023 kl. 3:34
Recently subscribed, so...basically you can't trip on corpses if you walk on fighting stance?
UnCheat 26. aug. 2023 kl. 2:55
If zero chance has been set then check moving state and its set chance, if it'zero then do not apply trip animation, even just make return, no need for calculations..
Survival of the Unfittest 22. aug. 2023 kl. 6:39
Thank you for the explanations.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2023 kl. 9:38
The modifiers are added to the base trip chances(walking, running and sprinting). Setting the base chances to 0 does not completely disable tripping.
If anyone has a better formula for the calculation, please share.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2023 kl. 9:36
The toggles(tick boxes) next to traits, skills, moodles etc. don't do anything, they are there so I could write stuff in their tooltips.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2023 kl. 9:33
If you changed the options after you have started a game with the Change Sandbox Options mod, try reloading the save.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2023 kl. 9:30
There is variable at the bottom of the options list called the Murphy's law with a default value of 1%.
If the trip chance was <= 0 after the calculations, the trip chance will be set to that variable.
Survival of the Unfittest 21. aug. 2023 kl. 9:24
I set trip chance for walking to 0%, cooldown to 100 seconds, and removed all modifiers, still my character trips while walking over zombies.
666 21. aug. 2023 kl. 5:56
Awesome mod, encounters with zombies are now much more interesting, thank you!
Maaz 19. aug. 2023 kl. 23:34
@B O B c a t Thanks alot for fixing the bug, it works flawlessly now
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2023 kl. 0:34
@Maaz - Thank you very much!
The conflict was with the GunFighter mod. I fixed it.
Maaz 18. aug. 2023 kl. 16:45
0. Debug mode and active mods: Trip'm'Fall; Arsenal[26] GunFighter Mod [2.0]; Mod Options (Build 41)
1. New game (tried solo apocalypse and sandbox with no changes to settings)
2. Character without any perks, random appearance
3. Killed a bunch of zeds and tried standing on the bodies: https://streamable.com/pa148o?src=player-page-share
I might add that if I remove "Mod Options" from save mods I no longer trip on the same bodies, as shown here: https://streamable.com/6kt380 (note that I also removed "Arsenal[26] GunFighter Mod [2.0]" due to the amound of lag the error spam generates but it does not affect the tripping bug)
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 18. aug. 2023 kl. 15:38
Hey @Maaz, a conflict with that mod is not possible. The problem you described was mentioned a few times before, and pushed a fix for it.
I am going to need steps to reproduce the issue because it works fine on my system.
Maaz 18. aug. 2023 kl. 15:23
Hi @B O B c a t, It seems that Your mod conflicts with "Mod Options (Build 41)" which is required for "Arsenal[26] GunFighter Mod [2.0]". The bug that I found is that the tripping occurs even if you are not moving. I was able to reproduce it on several different saves and worlds (killing a bunch of zeds and just standing on the bodies). Is it possible to fix it? I really like the idea of your mod and would love to use it in my personal mod pack.
BOBcat  [ophavsmand] 16. aug. 2023 kl. 0:07
@Simsimix - Thank you. @Lizzardman suggested the thing about slow terrain and it's on the to do list. But it causes a bug, so I don't know when I'll add it. Even when I do, I won't completely disable tripping though.
There is a 50% chance to fall and 10% chance to drop accessories while walking. That's not much if you ask me.
As I said in the description, this mod will change how you play: Make sure to leave space for you to walk on when killing zombies.
Or you can edit the code:
You can change the DiceRoll percentage to 0 on the line 312 to disable falling while walking entirely. Or change it on the line 313 to disable accessory dropping.
Simsimix 15. aug. 2023 kl. 17:19
or like walking through bushes, I swear to you the gameplay sometimes feels like a land mine, even with 0% chance to trip while walking.
Simsimix 15. aug. 2023 kl. 16:55
This is a great mod, it really revamps the whole concept of streets flooded with corpses, making every battle shift into an escape if you play your moves wrong.
One critic I have is that I found myself tripping all the time due to my myopic character, which leads to my glasses breaking all the time. Is there a chance you'd make a variant out of this? like treating corpses as slow terrain? like walking in the woods or something similar like the hoppable counters mod.
