You can't. To guns aim via the look output of the seat. When you're using the scopes, the look output stays at zero, so do the guns.

HOW TO AIM GUNS WITH SCOPE. I CANT FIGURE IT OUT.
Richman  [author] 26 Aug @ 12:20am
Nope, not from me at least.

The Dragon got an avionics upgrade lately and should now be on the same level as the Rescue Dragon.
SULFER.WILLOW.EU.ON.TOP 25 Aug @ 3:51pm
will there be a new gunship soon
?
Richman  [author] 5 Aug @ 12:13am
The LSR and RDR indication shows up a little bit farther, than the onboard sensors of the weapons can see. If you got a NO LSR/RDR indication, a hit of the weapons isn't garanteed.

Iit keeps saying no radar or laser even though theres 100 percent of both as i can see them aiming at me using radar and my laser is on them

nice

I added now an Auto-Chaff feature and trajectorys for the Gunner HUD, helping him aim the manual guns and rockets.

But concerning other defensive measures is probebly to much to ask. I considered to integrate a VLS system, or a small turret, but the Dragon doesn't have any spare space or mass to add a lot of extra wheight.
A protective layer or cage seems extreme. It is still an aircraft, and maybe just a change in deployment strategy is recommendable. It's not a flying, invulnerable tank, and probably never will be. Sometimes, the Dragon can be deployed most effectively with the right amount of care in situational awareness.

I'll take you up on the idea of the ballistic calculator. But it probably is going to be implemented as a visual overlay on the gunners hud.

The missiles don't have an arm time. But they have quite a narrow field of view. If the target doesn't come into their view shortly after launch, they'll probably fly blind.

At the moment, the Dragon is equipted with 24 chaff and 16 flares. The flares are only for aesthetic purposes, so it looks better. X-D
You could switch those flare launchers to chaff, to get the full amount of 36.

I'll look into the possibility of adding some auto chaff option. Shouldn't be a huge witchery to implement.
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:37am
That is of course if no similar protections are present on the vehicle.
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:35am
Last and probably least if no extra defensive measures end up being added, a protective layer, shield, cage, etc around the ordnance bay would be great in preventing massive explosions that eliminate not only the dragon and its crew, but also any friendly vehicles in the area if any are present. Perhaps a blowout protection? I am adding this suggestion a little later because I needed to test if something was implemented to prevent such occurrences.
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:27am
Automated or controlled by the gunner or both the gunner and pilot would be good
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:25am
A close range air defence against helicopters or planes would also be appreciated as it is generally only capable of attacking slow or slightly fast moving ground targets, stationary targets, and boats.
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:23am
More chaffs would also be nice as well as a configurable auto chaff system which preferably can tell the difference between a search radar and a fired missile
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:21am
Also reduced arm time for missiles would be great since they flew past a helicopter in front of the gunship and the helicopter was about 300-500 meters away
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:18am
If it impedes aim during motion you could have it shut off after a certain speed if you still like the idea of implementing the feature
MrNerf2632 10 Apr @ 8:18am
If you could make a ballistic calculator for the guns that would be great
Richman  [author] 18 Jan @ 12:03pm
It is inspired by this one, but no exact copy.

I can't believe this creation has a DETAILED 20 page flight manual, Bro Deserves more credit.
holger251007 8 Sep, 2024 @ 6:09am
I hope it has better Weapon control system
Consumer Of Potatoes 4 Sep, 2024 @ 1:02pm
pretty light ngl
Richman  [author] 27 Jul, 2024 @ 2:16am
And there's a detailed Flight Manual available with checklists and technical details. ;-)
MrNerf2632 26 Jul, 2024 @ 7:28pm
Figured it out that I can't be using camera when activating... All good now!
MrNerf2632 26 Jul, 2024 @ 7:25pm
I can arm the weapons but I can't figure out how to make them pop out! Can someone explain the system to me?
White_Brow231 20 Mar, 2024 @ 11:39am
Dope asf. Thanks for sharing with us.
Richman  [author] 14 Nov, 2023 @ 7:23am
Thx! Appreciated! ^^
mysoofic 14 Nov, 2023 @ 4:30am
Oh, thx very good gunship
Richman  [author] 13 Nov, 2023 @ 10:43am
Why? Did you accidentally deactivate the A.S.E.?
Normally the system stabilizes itself. Try to use the collective to set vertical speed and use the fwd thrust when you need to move forwards, even short distances. The autopilot modes POS, HDG, NAV and ALT can also be of great use.
mysoofic 12 Nov, 2023 @ 2:56pm
is hard flight
MG_Striker 6 Jul, 2023 @ 8:08am
thx
Richman  [author] 29 Jun, 2023 @ 10:46pm
You need to be close enough for them to lock on to a target shortly after launch. Use the RDR indication on the gunner HUD as hint.
MG_Striker 29 Jun, 2023 @ 1:16am
this is good

but somehow the radar guided misselles wont work for me :P
Yodar零式 20 Jun, 2023 @ 3:41am
