Your reanimations are so cool, but there is one bug: if you reload while sprinting, Gordon will put his gun up and the game will take that as the reload animation, making it reload instantly, and you can fire during the actual reload animation. This actually happens in HL2 with the "raising weapon" animation when you stop facing a friendly NPC. I don't know if you can fix it, just thought I'd let you know.

Just curious as to why I'm not able to hear any reload sounds, I have the required addon you've listed and I've made sure the files relating to this mod and the shared assets mod are up to date just in case they were updated at any point and still nothing, firing sound works fine however.

God damn we need more anim mods like this, this is just fun. Like the dude below me said, it's nice to see Gordon actually fumble reloads like he probably would in his panicked, inexperienced state. That and the goofy ass running animation where he's not really paying attention to where the gun is pointed as he's running, he's just booking it. Really hope you do more for other guns, even seeing something for the crowbar might be fun

I like how the animation portrays gordon barely understanding how guns work. The way I thought of it at first is he's thinking "Oh, its like a video game" until he handles it like he has no idea how to use it by struggling to insert a mag, handle the recoil, etc. a really nice mod for those who want to portray him as a scientist fighting for his life.

For weapon viewmodels where idletolow/lowtoidle doesn't work by default you need to use the "node" and "transition" parameters.

So for example in the QC for the vanilla Glock viewmodel you'll notice sequence "idletolow" has the command transition "0" "1" which means it will act as a transition between sequences that use a node named 0 ( node "0" ) and sequences with node "1" . And vice versa for "lowtoidle" which uses transition "1" "0" .

Except most of the nodes aren't set up on the QC by default. If you go ahead and add node "0" to every draw/fire/reload/etc sequence and node "1" to the lowidle sequence, it should work as intended.

If he didn't at least know how to operate the latch carrier, then he wouldn't be able to reload the SPAS-12 at all. I would assume the H.E.V. suit trains you on the basics of firearms operation, especially on the SPAS-12 since it seems to be used by Black Mesa security as a standard-issue weapon, and would be plenty available in the case of emergencies.

I absolutely adore the reload animations and the attention to detail and immersion factor overall. Easily some of the most natural looking viewmodel animations I've seen, ever, for any game. Outstanding!
