Do you play on Expert Mode by any chance?
On expert or master mode, there is possibility that the duration of debuffs increases.
In any case, thank you for reporting. I will verify that at late.

I get it it was supposed to be a joke mod, but just to know; The numbers in the settings doesn't seem to be right (or maybe is a conflict I'm having with some other mod). 5 seconds for me is actually gives the debuff for 10 seconds, 1 for 3 seconds and so on. Maybe is it applying the debuff twice?
Anyways, I actually like this mod. It's similar to the water is wet mod, it's something we expect, but never happens. Makes the player be more mindful when making torches breadcrumbs and more reason to make other light sources.

I've created this mod with understanding it's not good idea.

Because not every original idea its a good idea.
