Played this for the first time after seeing a the librarian video of it years ago. I didn't remember any of it so this was fun to see again and experience firsthand, myself.

I love how discomforting the last star/arcade area brings you straight into fight or flight, I had an M9K weapon pulled out for the rest of the map for if and when the Eyeball/Buttonhead appeared again.

that was one of those maps that you really just appreciate as i goes on and i'm happy to say that that was an experience that i will always remember truly one of the Garry's mod hall of famers in my opinion!

i fully plan to use this as a bit in a video (which most likely will be a few hours lmao)

I loved the whole experience but there is a fatal problem in your map. Towards the end if you jump into the poll instead of following the wooden path towards each tropical hut, then there is no way to get back up again and you remain stuck forever

when i got to the scary part i saw a long room with old lights so i nocliped to the doors it was opened it was all black void. when i turned around i saw wierd long half life 2 stalker completley black with wierd music playing in the backround. i got really scared and flied away from it immediatly left the game and removed the game. IM NEVER PLAYING IT AGAIN! i've never experienced anything so terrifing in garry's mod ever before. this map is haunted. very haunted

those would be the textures from infra. afaik they're made for a newer version of source but usually work in gmod as well. idk why they wouldn't display properly for you, sorry

Why do I see the checker pattern error texture in certain areas?

1970's themed gallery next?

This feels like what happens after you die. Transiting from place to place, passing through long forgotten memories from childhood, adulthood. Remembering museums your parents dragged you to as a kid. Office parties you went to in your mid twenties, when you first started that dead end job. Places that frightened you as a kid. Such as the dimly lit movie theater, or the stairs going down to your childhood home's basement. It felt like coming to terms with death, the past, before coming to terms with the grave, and accepting it was time to let go. My favorite map of yours by far, and favorite liminal map period

Played it through without noclip and it was sooooo worth it. The rooms taken from liminal gallery 1 and 2 are some good picks and feel like a sendoff to the trilogy. The returning room from gallery 2 with the grass looks like it's being demolished and that actually made me feel kinda sad. The brand new areas are just as good, the one that looks like heaven is a personal favorite. Just like another person wrote, 20/10 map, couldn't recommend enough.

This was perfect. by the end of the map I was yearning for me. such a beautiful experience. The horror aspects was improved a lot more as well. I cannot recommend this map more to any gmod players. Amazing job once again ShadyMilk! I would absolutely love to see more!

Wow, I just walked through the entire experience, and truly this was amazing. Got a little spooked here and there lol but it was part of the experience and I enjoyed it all! Great job!

no-clipping around will definitely break some triggers as there is a a propper order to exploring this map, but if you want to use it just for the scenery then go ahead

Could this map be used for, say, animations and stuff, or is it purely to explore as a (sort of) walking simulator?
I'm not against the altter, the map does look beautiful, I was just wondering because animating videos sometimes requires some no-clipping so I wouldn't want to mess with the scripts and beauty of the map haha^^'

The creature is vaguely based on an image from Liminal Gallery 2 where it was labeled as "Buttonhead" by The Librarian on his playthrough of the map and i have since stuck with that name. It doesn't have a prop model, it's just a simple brush entity made for that section of the map.

aaaaugh idk much of what's to come but i am asking, does the creature at the starry area have a name? and do they have a model? i think they look neat and wanna see em more. maybe make fanart?

I explored this map with some friends in VR and it was quite the experience. However when we walked into the big library room we were actually amazed because it was genuinely beautiful. This map is a mix of emotions. 10/10 I hope you make a Liminal Gallery 4

After Liminal gallery 1 & Liminal gallery 2, this playtrough was epic, more like silent hill limbo.

What happened to Liminal gallery 2 sandbox

I made a comment on Librarian's playthrough of this map saying that it'll be cool for one of your next liminal maps to be explorable by driving. In a way, it does lean into the whole "creepy and comfy" vibes Librarian talks about. You take comfort in the relative safety of your car to shield yourself from the creepy atmosphere outside.
