None of these are true except for Persians and Alans, which yea no shit they call themselves the same thing since they're related. That's like saying the Proto-Indo-Europeans must have called themselves Slavs since so many Slavic groups have Slav in their name.

the proto Indo- Europeans MOST LIKELY, called themselves "Eryos" or "Arya". that is the most common root word for cognate ethnonyms (an Ethnonym is a name a people called itself)

For Example, Iran. Alans, Eire (Ireland) German ( the G would have been pronounced like a soft h, so think "sir" in German , "Herr Goldberg". German, comes from {h}erman, such as the hermanduri, and the Irminsul. all these words are ethnonyms, and cognates of "Arya", if you want to go by pronounciation, they should be called "Eryos", if you go by Anglicization of the spelling, it would be Arya or Aryos )

Can u fix the icon of the reformed variation of dyeusist? There is broken circle, please fix it to full filled. And remove the gray spot in the top left corner of the both icons

@derekbm listen, can you make a patch for the Bronze Age mod?
Beorhthere Appleby 10. mar. 2024 kl. 14:07
It is quite annoying about the political extremists who have ruined such religious symbolism isn't it?

'Teut' seems to have been a preIE word, something with 'Hleud' might be more appropriate for the culture.

@Crankmeister Thank you! If you would be able to help out in making the names more accurate, please message me!
Crankmeister 22. maj 2023 kl. 16:33
been playing this a couple days and I dig the fuck out of it. The PIE have always fascinated me and I'd be down to help you with some of the names and the mythology and shit

@Darth Xaarinth, are you able to see the file's encoding? It should be UTF-8 with BOM, maybe the encoding changed for some reason?
Darth Xaarinth 30. apr. 2023 kl. 5:54
The files are there and they have text in them.
The pie_heritages_l_english file reads:
l_english:
heritage_pie_name:0 "Indo-European"
heritage_pie_collective_noun:0 "Indo-Europeans"
and the pie_languages_l_english file reads:
l_english:
language_pie_name:0 "Proto-Indo-European"
My game just seems to be ignoring them for whatever reason. If that's what they look like on your end then I'm kind of tempted to say there's something weird going on with my game or PC or something, heh heh... All of the other localization seems to be working just fine as far as I've seen though
derekbm  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2023 kl. 5:28
Are the localization files in the mod's folder empty?
Darth Xaarinth 29. apr. 2023 kl. 16:47
I don't think there are any mod conflicts, but I started a game with just this mod enabled and the localization was still missing. I also verified the game files through steam in case there was something wrong with the base game, but that didn't change anything either. I don't fully understand how the localization files work / are supposed to work, so there could still be something squirrely going on on my end but I have no idea what what might be causing the problem at this point

Fixed the clothing, thanks for the heads up! (I had seen that my PIE characters were nude, but assumed that my game must have been broken as I had nudity switched off). About the localization, do you have any other mods running that might negate the loc. files?
Darth Xaarinth 29. apr. 2023 kl. 15:09
It still looks the same on my end and I tried deleting the local files and resubbing to the mod so it doesn't look like the steam version updated?

On an unrelated note, when I switched over to the culture I noticed my character lost all their clothes. Think the line for clothing_gfx needs to be clothing_gfx = { fp1_norse_clothing_gfx northern_clothing_gfx } or just clothing_gfx = { northern_clothing_gfx } if you didn't want the dlc specific stuff there
derekbm  [ophavsmand] 29. apr. 2023 kl. 13:28
Ok, it should be working now! Let me know if you have any more problems.
derekbm  [ophavsmand] 29. apr. 2023 kl. 12:35
Oh thank you! I'll troubleshoot the mod and fix the localization. I really apologize for releasing it before checking to make sure that everything works!
Darth Xaarinth 29. apr. 2023 kl. 4:18
Also, for the virtues part of the religion, the Raider trait is called viking in the base game files, so it should say that rather than raider
Darth Xaarinth 29. apr. 2023 kl. 4:11
I noticed that the localization for the heritage and name don't seem to be working so the culture doesn't show up in the ruler designer. When I force changed to the culture using a console command, both the heritage and culture read as _name. I compared the localization files for the mod to the ones in the game and I can't for the life of me figure out why it isn't working since everything looks like how it does in the base game. I've had problems with localization not working for some of my own mods before and I found that sometimes copying an existing localization file, renaming it, copying the text you want into the file while getting rid of whatever was there from the original file sometimes gets the localization to work correctly. Not sure if you already tried that, but if you haven't it might be worth a try
