Ive thought about it as the current scheme looks about as good as the models design lol. but not in the forseeable future, i have three mods planned (MILW streamlined trainset with the dome and hiawatha obs cars, the 4449 SP GS-4, and SP trainset with articulated cars and the 3/4 dome) and then starting to update my other mods for tpf3.

Any chance you could make a reskin that matches the model shown in the original ads for the Avelia? Much more of a fan of the concept model than the current one

The acceleration is still pretty slow. Game is telling me top speed in 8 min/16 mi. Do I need to update this mod?

ya i know i mean it should go up to 350 because thats what it goes up to without tilting

there's no tilting mechanism as the game does not have active tilting support itself, live with it

Oh and the top speed is wrong its 350km/h without tilting not 290. 260 is with tilting

i like platypus but this design was absolutely horrid. its right up there with CNWs crandall cab. if you want a good platypus looking loco, japan did a good one with the N700

Do you plan on making the TGV-M version (newest TGV)? You could add Angier's duplex cars to the Avelia locomotive and some repaint is also needed, but is it possible to create such mod?

Don't think the train will ever get an american horn. Legally it isn't viable. Why? Thats because the Avelia cab is CRAMPED and cant make space because of the anti climbers and crash protection equipment. All Amtrak trains have a horn. All american trains have a horn and a Bell. It's law.
Along with Wig-Wag lights , and a Bell that sounds/Flashes when the horn is activated.

@n.chiri the first renders had additional pieces on the locomotive for a smoother transition of one of the kinks at least, but those dissapeared for some reason over the further design process. The newer double decker version for the french market looks as bad as the Avelia as well.

I think the mismatch between the profiles of the power cars and coaches is because the coaches do have a tilting mechanism, but the power cars don't. This created a problem with aerodynamics that forced them to design the coaches in a way that doesn't mess up with the air flow that much when they are tilted.

dude its an abomination through and through. the original acela looked good! it was also made by alstom, so i dont understand how they screwed it up so bad. and then the horn....

my favourite part is how on the real train the passenger car profile doesn't even match the locomotives

Fixed it! The tractive effort was wrong, I fixed it from 100 to 360

@themeatballhero The front of the power car is too wide. Notice how the in-game model has three top headlights, while the real one only has too. Everything would need to be made a bit slimmer at the front.
