this mod causes my game to cause errors generating the map everytime upon attempt.
megabot 22. aug. 2024 kl. 14:11
damn, I hope this gets updated soon
King DaMuncha 16. aug. 2024 kl. 21:37
Please update.
MediumMatt148 9. aug. 2024 kl. 14:56
Good mod. But because of it, I did miss all the steel in my strip mine.
Cantaloupe The Clown 15. juni 2024 kl. 11:14
Ferris seems to be working on updating OwlChemist's mods. he currently does have this mod available, if you don't use ReGrowth and want this as a standalone

TBH, I'd rather have this updated to 1.5 than use some compendium mod that is reliant on the Expanded Framework >>
Three 29. apr. 2024 kl. 13:49
Thanks for this mod. I have used it in many games. It's a nice thing for the author that his idea was incorporated into a larger whole! May Random Randy reward you!
Helixien 14. apr. 2024 kl. 23:23
A version of the mod has been integrated into ReGrowth: Core for 1.5 with permission:

1.5:steamthumbsup:
Kazzier 12. apr. 2024 kl. 2:03
Just had an issue on 1.5 where the map wouldn't generate due to this. Best waiting for an update before you use.
KIT_KATTEN 28. jan. 2024 kl. 9:52
compact machinery doesn't blend it still uses the old texture also very hard to tell compacted steel from marble
Deadmano 10. jan. 2024 kl. 20:11
King DaMuncha: It is not an issue with this mod. That exists in vanilla as well. You're only noticing it because you're paying close attention expecting change, and it is made evident by Camera+ which you are using. All flaws can be magnified when viewed from up close. Remove Camera+ to test and you'll see what I'm talking about.
King DaMuncha 1. nov. 2023 kl. 9:11
These textures dont tile (repeat) very well
Anthaderas 13. sep. 2023 kl. 7:04
I can't seem to have the "upper"/"northern" effect of the mod (that you have on your first screenshot) on any of my ores. When "air" is on top and ores are on the bottom, I just see stone, and can only confirm when selected. Don't know what could be the issue.
jrox8 7. sep. 2023 kl. 18:57
Likely a sneaky compatibility issue on my end but this mod in my list of ~270 screwed up map generation mid-game. No tile was able to be entered except home colony tile. Log was filled with this message:

Exception from asynchronous event: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

Removing the mod fixed it.
Ren 25. aug. 2023 kl. 7:54
this might be too much work for the scope of this mod but it would be cool if instead of removing the secondary colouring (?) of the ores, it instead made them blend in with the surrounding stones. this way it still looks good (no stark borders) but also would be visually easy to spot ores.
Nevermind 4. aug. 2023 kl. 1:46
I'm getting an error whenever I have an ore vein adjacent to northern or southern edge of my map. Tested it with silver, steel, plasteel, uranium ores and jade. Could you please take a look?

Log: https://gist.github.com/HugsLibRecordKeeper/6c6d7c0930cbd2b2ac6733f9c16f31c5

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a colony, place a meteorite at the northern or southern edge of a map (debug actions menu -> Spawn thing set -> Meteorite).
2. Save your game, then load this save with dev mode on to see the error.
Torcalie 8. juni 2023 kl. 1:06
this should be how the base game looks
Tris 3. maj 2023 kl. 19:45
I used this with Cupro's Stones Mod and it works great. Same issue as in the FAQ though, it was even harder to spot ores with the new stones, some being the exact same color as ores.
Maybe an option for random glint/particle shin would be nice?
-Sorry. You are probably sick of this comment by now.
Great mod!
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 1. maj 2023 kl. 2:13
Right, that's why it's defaulted to being on the blacklist in the mod options. It only works for ores that use 2 color channels in its texture file.
TitaniumTurtle 1. maj 2023 kl. 1:25
This doesn't seem to affect compacted machinery for me. Other ores just fine, but not that one. Is that intentional since it isn't really ore, or should I be looking for mod conflicts?
Ghojo 21. apr. 2023 kl. 2:01
Oh I wasn't aware there is a blacklist feature, I will check it out. Thanks for the tip!
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 20. apr. 2023 kl. 9:28
That's why the blacklist feature exists, the mod options.
Ghojo 20. apr. 2023 kl. 3:40
This is a great mod, but it's soooooooooooo hard to find certain ores & materials on certain stones, and clay from a mod for example disappears completely.
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 18. apr. 2023 kl. 16:15
if the ores don't have connected stone then no (meteors usually do not unless they fall into a mtn)
Tardo The Ass-Monkey 18. apr. 2023 kl. 15:21
Oh that is evil and tricksy. And I love it, great work.

Out of curiosity, does this affect ores that come from meteors, or ores on the long range scanner that happen to be out in the open?
Big Pepsi Man 1. apr. 2023 kl. 12:56
Thrying to find steel on limestone is the thing that's going to make me start wearing glasses to play this game. Don't get me wrong, this is still a great mod.
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 29. mar. 2023 kl. 1:31
v1.0.4
- The checkboxes in the mod options now support drag-selection.
- Some code cleanup.
VoidLord 26. mar. 2023 kl. 22:56
i freaking LOVE your mods

Rae 15. mar. 2023 kl. 12:36
I'm having the opposite issue from others, it doesn't seem to impact my ores at all? Love your mods though!
Nörr 12. mar. 2023 kl. 10:54
Haha yeah I agree, I love the mod and all of owlchemists mods, but it makes the ores so hard to see
Mcsqizzy 24. feb. 2023 kl. 10:36
this mod makes it so annoying finding ores when scanning the map, but damn i would never go back to vanilla in a modded run since this just looks so much better. Love the change Owlchemist
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2023 kl. 4:23
And I appreciate it, thanks ^^
kongkim 22. feb. 2023 kl. 3:35
Have mined it all out now, and was all sandstone.
But hay im just trying to help :) and as said i do use a lot of mods so maybe something fuck it up there. But have a good day.
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2023 kl. 3:21
The stone in between the two ores are different. Unless that's just the lighting throwing me off. If that's not in then it's a stone "behind" the ore that you can't see, in the mountain. Usually doesn't happen but it potentially can sometimes.
kongkim 22. feb. 2023 kl. 2:56
Yah i understand that, but there are only sandstone in that area.
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2023 kl. 2:25
It's not the same type of stone. There's 2 stone types there. When there are multiple types of stone surrounding it, it just picks one at random for the lump.
kongkim 22. feb. 2023 kl. 2:23
I mean, they are both ores surrounded by same type of stone, but the steel become two diffrent colors?
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2023 kl. 2:06
Looks like it's working to me, dunno what you mean. It matches surrounding stone, which they are, no?
kongkim 22. feb. 2023 kl. 2:01
@Owlchemist I do use a lot of mods, so its 99% chance for a conflict :) But its a bit funny as you can see on the SS, its both vanilla steel ores one of them use your new shader i think and the other don't.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2937134310
Owlchemist  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2023 kl. 1:20
Nope. Only reason you may not notice any change is if you're using modded ore retextures that don't support 2 color channels.
kongkim 17. feb. 2023 kl. 14:53
Do it need to be in any load order, don't really see the changes?
Stony Rock 17. feb. 2023 kl. 11:51
Imo this should be included into vanilla game. Looks WAY better than what we have now, and seems to be very simple in nature. Perfect.
Caz 15. feb. 2023 kl. 17:45
Yet another "I didn't know I needed this" mod from the illustrious Owlchemist. Thank you for all your mods, Owl! <3
Arky 2. feb. 2023 kl. 3:56
Makes sense. My dumb ass asked before thinking. Lol

For aome reason in my mind having both would be cool. Thank you for alerting me of the nightmare.
