pasteurization of milk is mainly necessary because of messy mass production factory farm machines etc. its not necessary in small manual labor farms

might be a conflict, but it's not working
lizmac21 19 Oct, 2024 @ 11:49am
could you add corn and rice to this list too!

please include 1.5 to the tags, the red text I see whenever I open RimPy and take a look at my mods is driving me crazy...

Nyx (She/Her) 15 May, 2024 @ 1:31pm
as a patch mod, it should just always work
lizmac21 5 May, 2024 @ 8:37am
does this mod still work?

Any chance of a 1.5 update?
eighmy_lupin 14 Apr, 2024 @ 5:34pm
I just assumed the pasteurization was just shown off screen similar to how we never see pawns water the crops yet they still grow

love this mod, could we have a small change though?
Raw milk is actually dangerous, it's why we pasteurise it, could we get an option to remove milk from the mod?

After playing for a couple of hours with this mod running in 1.5 with this being the last loaded, I haven't run into any issues. I feel comfortable enough that the newest patch at a minimum didn't break the mod.

Hey Mx. Cyto, are you planning to update this for 1.5?
Just wondering cuz I'm tired of food poisoning during early gameplay 😭

Warm regards,
M.

what do I need to do if I wanted to add another kind of fruit to the safe to eat raw list?

While I agree that you CAN get food poisoning from these foods I also assume that most people don't usually put mold covered berries in their mouth, drink sour milk or eat honey that blinks at you. But with the rate that my colonists get food poisoning from these foods that is all I can assume they do. I'm literally here downloading this mod because I just had half my colony poisoned by eating insect jelly at the same time.

I spent 4 years working in kitchens before I got my forklift certification and honestly even without strict cleanliness rules berries and honey (aka insect jelly) are almost a non issue.

I agree.

I'm no toxicologist, but humans are biologically engineered to being able to spot, smell and/or taste food that is improper to consumption.

While it doesn't work 100% for all kind of foods, meat being particularly dangerous, claiming there is any kind of realism to how many times pawns get food poisoning and how debilitating it is compared to equivalent situations in RL is a bit preposterous.

There should be some severe cases requiring immediate care/hospitalization, like consuming poisonous mushrooms or meat turned foul with Escherichia coli, but it shouldn't happen like *every* year with almost clockwork precision when on a regular fruit diet for example.

This mod is therefore welcome in my book.

Could you add Raw Honey? I saw you can get food poisoning from Raw honey and it's like what? lol

@Alewolfo Why? You can totally get food poisoning in real life from eating these things. Milk can be expired, berries can be moldy etc. Just use this mod if you don't want the food poisoning chance but having it be vanilla is ridiculous. Some people actually like realism.
Alewolfo 28 Jan, 2023 @ 1:10pm
Another tiny mod that should be vanilla
Singularity 27 Jan, 2023 @ 11:23pm
does it work with royal insect jelly from Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insects?

I rewrote the patch operations, and it no longer has dependencies.

Thanks for the report rudemario! It replicated on my end.

I'm adding Harmony and XML Extensions as requirements, since XML Extensions fixes the issue.

Hey there, cyto! I get this error when running on the latest 1.4 version running nothing but Core, Royalty, Ideology, and Biotech (then your mod). Any ideas?
