where's the open world level?

Hey, is there any chance we could get Chips Dubbo as player 4 instead of Rookie? I ask as I'm looking at playing this on a Livestream with a party of four and I'm an Aussie and I was like "Oh Shit I Wonder???"

Another suggestion would be to make either player 3 or 4 into Sergeant Johnson because he already has all of the relevant lines from being playable in Firefight.

you said that you had the idea for when there were more players than backup characters to use as playermodels to have them play as generic marines, there is a mod called halo 3 marine that uses a marine first person player model as well as first person look down legs. i dont know the first thing about halo modding so idk how easy it is to take that from the guys mod and port it over (you would also need his permission to use it if its custom of his own) just an idea since i love using this mod with friends.

after regret did a slipspace rupture into mombasa, all his troops that were on earth keep there and most of them got killed by the brutes, since theres one history of elites that even help humans you could make in mombasa streets the rest of the players as elites

believe it or not i did do full legendary runs in this with a full party of friends, a couple times with iron

we'll come up with something for the other players eventually, personally i wouldn't have them play as marines but as some sort of generic ODSTs, like the halo 3 ones as suggested, but I'm not aware of anyone porting the halo 3 model and giving it player animations (not that i know how to do it), any more ideas are welcome but anyway, soon (tm).
I've wanted to create a version of this mod for reach as well where you play as the rest of noble team in co-op but I'm not sure how far one could go with that with the reach tools or if it's even a good idea at all.

why not have the other players play as troopers or nmpd officers? there is no shortage of those guys around new mombasa, and it would sorta give the vibe of rounding up survivors.

What could be a cool idea is that Rookie is treated like a character and anytime you have more players than the main ODST squad other players could be placed as standard ODST characters from Halo 3. Not sure about the possibility or ease of implementation.

I was about to download this until I read about Data Hive being cut down a little, I get what you're doing here but I think I'd rather just have 2 rookies for the whole level (or 1 rookie and then 1 buck, i guess) than having sections of the level be cut entirely, and I don't really think I'm alone on this. The mod is pretty good as it is so I really don't think people would be bothered by this little exception (especially since you've explained why it cannot be done).

How does the more than 2 players thing work with the characters appearing half way or later on through the mission work? Does the 3rd player just sit out for half of the mission?
