You can't just shut off the TV anymore, the fact is that when the TV is destroyed Dogma still lives- he has become embedded in Isaac and his mom's minds, and the Christian dogma is no longer limited to the TV.
It's like a brain virus- it spreads and doesn't stop at the source. Like how you still remember a show even if you turn off the TV, or how something traumatizing still sticks in even though it's been a while since it happened.
