yeh that was it, was suddenly working when i booted up the game 2day:)
Kathanon  [author] 12 Aug @ 9:46am
Some sounds unfortunately require a game restart to take affect.
Ravayen 12 Aug @ 9:42am
Turning off altitude wind does nothing for some reason, i even went as far as testing with all sounds marked "wind" turned off and the on but at zero and still that wind sound is there, please someone save me.
Kathanon  [author] 17 Jul @ 7:36pm
If you make sure you hear the sound and then open the options, it should be close to the top.
NyanTayme 17 Jul @ 6:32pm
Great mod! Downloaded it trying to find a way to mute the air-con outdoor unit from dbh and I didn't found it on the options but its still a great mod lol
lizardorb 15 Jul @ 3:34am
Thank you so much for updating! :stardrop:
Kathanon  [author] 15 Jul @ 2:24am
Changing all the sounds at once... just change the volume in the game settings? Also more than 200% won't work, even 200 is a bit iffy for many sounds. It works much better when lowering than increasing the volume.
KomejiKoishi 14 Jul @ 10:59pm
and could you pls increase the volume cap to more than 200%? because some of my sounds are too small 😭
KomejiKoishi 14 Jul @ 10:52pm
could you pls provide a way to change all the sounds? thanks
KomejiKoishi 14 Jul @ 10:50pm
not work for babycry and babylaugh
moo 14 Jul @ 5:57pm
Hi @kathanon
Big modpacks cause your settings window to be very laggy
Kathanon  [author] 14 Jul @ 5:01pm
Update:
- Support for RimWorld 1.6.
- Fixed bug where sorting by last played would not update until toggled.
slimeform 3 Jun @ 7:33am
The ability to sort by last played is so clutch. Recently reinstalled the game and you saved me from the horrible "snap back" sound
Axelerator 6 Apr @ 7:26pm
@BabbenTheBunnyBlaster fire burning sound can be changed with the mod right now it seems, I just had to restart my game before it took effect
slimeform 24 Aug, 2024 @ 9:32am
I love you for making this.
Kamizushi 10 Jun, 2024 @ 9:04am
Thank you! I've been wanting to get rid of ritual music for so long. The morbid music is probably the most bearable but even it gets old after a while and the animalist ritual song is Christmas choral level of obnoxious.
bumrum 26 Apr, 2024 @ 7:22pm
thanks again for this... some of the sounds added are not that pleasent... worst offenders are the hemogen consumption noise... and whatever the childbirth sound is...
Kathanon  [author] 13 Apr, 2024 @ 2:46pm
I'll take a look when I'm done with the 1.5 updates.
BabbenTheBunnyBlaster 13 Apr, 2024 @ 1:41pm
Lowering fire burning sound does not work sadly
lizardorb 10 Apr, 2024 @ 9:04pm
Thank you so much! You're amazing!
Kathanon  [author] 10 Apr, 2024 @ 7:07pm
Updated for RimWorld 1.5.
lizardorb 15 Mar, 2024 @ 9:56am
That would be awesome. ^-^
Kathanon  [author] 15 Mar, 2024 @ 7:11am
I expect it just needs to br compiled for the new version.
lizardorb 15 Mar, 2024 @ 7:00am
I hope it won't be too crazy to update this for 1.5, I don't know if I even want to try playing it without this. I tried just running it on experimental (though I didn't get into the game) and the mod options were blank. Not sure if the old settings still applied or not.

Thank you for a great mod whether you're able to update it or not. I wouldn't have over 1000 hours in this game without it. :D
Decoherent 12 Feb, 2024 @ 6:08pm
Fair enough! Some of the environmental ones may be very short overlaid clips, like the surgery sound. Thanks anyway!
Kathanon  [author] 11 Feb, 2024 @ 6:35pm
That could very well be the case. I didn't delve far enough into the sound system to entirely understand it.
Decoherent 11 Feb, 2024 @ 12:53pm
Hey, I know that these are all pulled in from the game, but I was wondering if you'd be willing to give me a hand finding & adjusting a sound. Specifically, the Ambient_* sounds are all much too loud, IMO, but adjusting them in your mod doesn't always seem to work in-game.

The Jungle sounds seem to work fine, but I really want to adjust the "hard snow" and "thunderstorm" ambient effects, and my guesses don't seem to have any effects. I toggled all of the Ambient_ sounds off, but annoyingly, all of the wind/rain ones remained running. Sorting by last heard gives me some insight, but again, the stupid noises don't seem adjustable.

Is there something special about the weather/ambient noises, that the game doesn't let your mod adjust them? It's been slowly driving me up the wall for years... (oh, and thanks for the mod, it works great for 99% of my problems :) )
Kathanon  [author] 15 Dec, 2023 @ 5:56am
If you set it to 200% then the mod tells the game to play it twice as loud. What the game then does with that seems to vary a bit from sound to sound. There will be a cutoff point where it is maxed out, but I have no way of determining where that is.
ttty 15 Dec, 2023 @ 5:42am
Thank you for creating a good mode. But I have a question. The sound volume is not much different from 100%, even though I set the sound to 200% in the in-game mode setting. Is the sound volume at 100% max?
Melone 19 Sep, 2023 @ 10:13am
Thank you - found it using the "sort". It's "LetterArrive_BadUrgent".
Kathanon  [author] 18 Sep, 2023 @ 1:48pm
I don't know what the individual sound names are, sorry. The names are from the game, not from the mod.
If you go into the options right after a message pops up, you can use the "Sort by last played" and it should be among the top few ones.
Melone 17 Sep, 2023 @ 7:27am
Thanks for the amazing mod. What is the sound that is played if a warning message like malaria or solar flare comes up? I cannot find it... ty!
eldiabs 27 Jul, 2023 @ 7:28am
Going to create a steam discussion with the error in the title and description with a link to your mod so hopefully when other people inevitably run into this issue they have a better solution than just 'welp, set your log file to read-only' or 'disable each mod individually until you find that specific conflict' even though it'll pop up again with some other random interaction of mods. This mod not only eliminates the issue, but allows you to find the specific conflicting sounds. Thanks again!
Kathanon  [author] 27 Jul, 2023 @ 7:16am
I'm glad it is useful for you. :)
eldiabs 27 Jul, 2023 @ 7:07am
Take my points dude. This mod is allowing me to properly trace down the dreaded Error executing m_FMODChannel sound loop that literally no one on the internet seems to have a solution for. With this mod you can refresh most recent played sounds, disable them and save, exit to main menu, load save back up and locate the offending sounds that create the dreaded log file spam. You have no idea how much time I've spent trying to figure out solutions to this issue. It's one of the hardest to troubleshoot mod issues in the game and the solution to tracing the exact sound down has been sitting on the workshop since December. Should be a top rated and subscribed mod for anyone with more than a couple dozen mods in their playlist. Thank you so much.

@HotdogMoisturiser I just meant that Windows allows you to set any .wav sounds as system sounds. And no external application is needed for this. Just find the files you want to use as a new sound.
You asked for "any tip" yourself. :trolol: Chillax
HotdogMoisturiser 11 Jun, 2023 @ 8:33am
@Guucio i highly doubt that Rimwold sound effects would come default with windows hence why im asking around about it might wanna read the full context of the comment next time.
Kathanon  [author] 11 Jun, 2023 @ 1:44am
I'm glad you like it. :)
Liv 10 Jun, 2023 @ 10:12pm
Omg I can finally stop the door slide sounds
Three 28 May, 2023 @ 2:16am
@HotdogMoisturiser it's a part of Windows settings, check out Sound Settings in Control Panel. :cozyfallout4:

WondrinOstrich 21 May, 2023 @ 5:33am
Great mod !! After more than 1000 hours now those night-insects gave me quite a headache ...
Thank you VERY much !!
:-))
Kathanon  [author] 22 Apr, 2023 @ 2:21am
Should not have any measurable performance impact.
If you remove the mod, then the sounds will not be disabled anymore.
Selne 21 Apr, 2023 @ 8:07pm
Hey, does this have any performance impact or is it safe to leave in after disabling sounds?
Kathanon  [author] 10 Apr, 2023 @ 5:43am
Thank you. :)
I assume RimPy reads the load order hints in about.xml.
Three 10 Apr, 2023 @ 5:31am
Just subscribed to this interesting mod. :HKIndustry:
I hope you let the RimPy team know what order it should be loaded in. :floppy:
Thanks for the great job.
Kathanon  [author] 2 Mar, 2023 @ 3:35pm
I recommend this in conjunction with Block Unwanted Minutia.
lizardorb 2 Mar, 2023 @ 3:18pm
It makes my day when I find one mod that lets me remove a group of others! I have a bunch of 'mute this' kind of mods. Now maybe I just need this one? :D
bonafide boofer 24 Jan, 2023 @ 2:53pm
Thanks!
Red Phantom Ledo 24 Jan, 2023 @ 2:49pm
